Can anyone identify this vintage car badge?

I'm having a bit of a garage clearout and came across this a couple of days ago. I feel like I should know what it is from, but I can't place the make/model no matter how much I try. It's really bugging me now!

Can anyone put me out of my misery?

It has a numberical code on the back, that includes WBB2, no idea if that helps?

I knew I’d seen it before somewhere but couldn’t fathom it! My dad owned a Herald as a resto project and while this wasn’t on the car, it was definitely on some boxes of parts inside it!

At some point in history (1960's) Triumph acquired Standard cars and adopted the Standard cars shield with an added script.

You strike me as the kind of man who bears the scars of dallying with a car from the TR series. Does that ring any bells?

It is indeed a Standard badge, have a look on the bonnet of this one:

Well done and thanks! I never doubted that the knowledge base here would solve it. I should add, that there is no way I would have figured that out on my own.

I have absolutely no idea how this came into my possession though. I guess it must have been in a box of bits at some point in the distant past. I don't believe there has ever been Standard ownership in the family - Triumph yes.
