Recommend an overnight stay in France say 2-3 hrs gentle MC ride from Eurotunnel?

We had planned a couple of nights in Ypres as a quick break but that's gone to pot - can anyone recommend an interesting/relaxing town in France within say 2 to 3 hrs gentle/scenic (no autoroute etc) motorcycle jaunt from the French Eurotunnel terminal?

You could follow the coast west towards Boulogne, Le Touquet and Berck along the D940.

How about a blast down to the Champagne region and Reims/Epernay? Lots of places to stay and eat.

    Brugge?
Depends on the onward journey I suppose
Hotel Ter Duinen is very nice.
About An hour and a half and Brugge is just off the E40 motorway

Le Mans maybe a bit too far?

Le Touquet is a good suggestion.

Montreuil Sur Mer is an interesting and picturesque old town, its chief novelty being that it's not been on the sea for centuries, but it has some very impressive ramparts that look like a sea wall! It's not far from Le Touquet.

Another vote for Montreuil and Le Touquet. Also Etaples, Abbeville is interesting and Amiens a bit further on, then Arras on the road back up.

That looks about the right spot (Montreuil) - will check it out.

We're two up on my Royal Enfield Himalayan (yes, seriously) so a gentle back road pootle is needed TBH rather than a blast as it's only a one or two nighter planned at best (if Boris allows France to remain available).

I was not too keen on the northern French coastal towns as a base anyway but Le Touquet could be a nice little excursion.

Anyone got a hotel recommendation there (preferably bike friendly).

I’ve done it and I stayed in Reims, was excellent then popped into champagne which isn’t far off, went through B roads no tolls and the bakeries and vin yards are outstanding

We had a road trip to Italy planned, leaving in about 10 days from now but have taken the decision to cancel the driving part and fly instead. Too risky with respect to the possible quarantine on return from France.

    Frustrating times.

I’ve camped here a few times and it’s been great. No-frills, simple, typically French, quaint local market, nice village, convenient, nice beaches nearby. Only 30 minutes from Calais. I’ve only tented, but they take campers, caravans and even have static homes on site.

Troyes is lovely, but stretched the definition of a couple of hours no matter how you ride.
