Anyone electrical minded please help me with this power adapter please

My power adapter for my reef tank led just blew a few days ago & need to replace it.
I've had a look around on the web but really unsure of which adapter to purchase , I tried an adapter I had lying around & it was red hot within about 30mins so obviously not correct.
If any clever person could point me to the adaptor I need it would be much appreciated.

Have you tried putting in the model number? Make sure you get the correct plug end right too 3,4,5,6 mm for example.
If you plug the basics into eBay you will find loads I’m sure.
    Input 240v 50-60 HZ 1A
    Output 24v 1.5A
    Cheers..

Should just to ensure that the output is the same as the knackered one, if that is it above then 24v and that the positive/negative poles are the same, compare the wee picture on the back showing a dot and a C around it pointing to +or-.
    Positive centre negative outer.

You’ll probably be better off buying a laptop power block, most will have a higher amp output but that won’t matter, you just need to make sure the business end that plugs into the light is the correct type/size and polarity.

Many thanks for that , it looks like the connector will fit & I'm happy to give it a go at that price.
