Longines Ultra Thin Quartz - who should service it?

    My dad’s watch:

    Attachment 18112

    Attachment 18114

was speeding up rapidly so my mum took it into the local watchmaker for a new battery.

Since then it’s still not right and is losing or gaining time drastically.

It’s not been serviced for quite some time and I told her it probably doesn’t need to go to Longines but I don’t know where to send it to?

    Does anyone have any recommendations?
I’m not sure how complicated this is to service - maybe it’s simple enough that her local guy is good enough? Or is that not worth the risk? I’ve no idea if he’s a decent watchmaker or not!

    Thanks.

If it means so much to you in terms of sentimental value. Me personally I would send it to Longines.
They actually are quite reasonable in their prices.
The only thing I would say is it would probably be a couple of months to do it as they are on a backlog. I know because they still have my Heritage Diver 1967 from the beginning of June lol.
It's worth the wait because they do a brilliant job.
Acorrding to the current price list it's £180.00 for a full service & £55.00 for a partial.

I think take it to Longines to service it. It’s obviously worth it from a sentimental point of view. They may replace the movement but I’m sure it will be worth it in the long run.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
