Crystal Times/Seikomods for a sapphire and Duncan/thewatchbloke for the swap.
£400 is daft
Hi folks,
A friend has an SKX007 with a pretty beat up crystal. Anyone know the best place to send it to for a replacement?
I'm not sure how hard a job it is, a local shop quoted £400 though, which seems a bit daft when you can get a brand new SKX for £240. Could attempt changing it ourselves if the tools aren't too expensive! Bit dubious about breaking stuff if it's a 'movement out' jobby though.
Many thanks in advance,
Joe.

Plenty of videos on how to do it on YouTube , a press and toolkit available on ebay for about £25..
Doesn't look too difficult, I have a new crystal for mine, cost about £30 a new gasket is probably sensible... i haven't attempted it yet because im too busy.
£400 !!!!!! Is crazy
Obviously if you do it yourself you may need a pressure test before you get it wet?

You should be paying around £50 for the fitting including pressure test. Crystals can be anywhere from £20-40. I assume they we’re wearing a mask when they quoted £400 cos that is a robbery

No need even to remove the bezel in the 007!!
