    Osprey

Havn't posted a video before so not sure if works. My wife is staying at a holiday home near Granton on Spey, Scotland just now and this is the view from the window. Spot the Osprey!

And again. I think it didn't manage to grab the fish the first time.

Apparently it's quit well known to the locals, but won't appear if the farmer is working nearby. It must hit the water with some considerable force. Incredible how it can spot a fish from so high up.

However, it doesn't seem to be bothered by the robot mower that runs around constantly. Virtually silent it seems.

Nice. Your wife is close to Boat of Garten and the Loch Garten Osprey Centre (RSPB). Another good place to head is Findhorn Bay on the Moray coast where we used to watch them fishing in the mouth of the Bay in the evening with a pint from the Kimberley Inn.

Thank you Skier. I shall pass that on to my wife. I think she is enjoying being able to sit in the lounge with a cup of tea and watch all the action through the window without getting wet!
The bird appeared again this morning to catch it's breakfast:

I wish I was over there with my DSLR. But then of course, it would never appear :)

I used to live in Findhorn and then Culloden (just east of Inverness) and it's a stunning area. I'll bet your wife is loving sitting in the warmth watching the Ospreys. I could offer all sorts of suggestions for places to visit but won't unless requested as I have no idea what her plans are.

Thanks for that. She's heading home tomorrow (with mother and kids in tow!). It's certainly been the highlight of the trip. My son managed to catch a trout with a fly rod. Something he's not done before. A beautiful and remarkable place.
