    Hamilton (not the watches!)

Sorry if there is a thread running, I did try to search this but hunting for "Hamilton" on a watch forum brought up one or two threads.

This is for the stage show/musical.
Last week my wife upgraded us to the Disney+ channel. No hardship, a fiver a month for all the marvel and star wars content is pretty good, but then I learned that the reason for this unexpected treat was the exclusive showing of Hamilton.
To be honest I thought it was three hours to be endured so she would bugger off to bed and I could get stuck into The Mandalorian, but by the time it was finished I have to admit I was a firm fan and cant wait for an opportunity to see it live.

Any other fans, accidental or otherwise? Better still, who has been lucky enough to see the production live on stage??
The king George scenes only take up a few minutes but definitely steal the show!

If it’s not watches it must be Paint Brushes after all Hamilton make the best paint brushes out of Chinese white hog hair.

So, based on two teenagers that already knew all of the lyrics off by heart, I was forced to buy tickets on the day that they were released in the U.K. It was very much much an OK I’ll come along deal, to be honest I was more looking forward to doing a bit of retail therapy up town.
First refreshing thing was the security were actually checking that every ticket was being used by the person who bought it, bank card and additional form of ID. I know that this can be sidestepped but it certainly reduces touts.
Anyway, back to the show, my daughter was almost apoplectic when the curtain went up, as was my son, it was like a religious experience for them. Now here’s the thing, within 20 minutes of the show starting I found myself really enjoying it. By the end of the show I have to say it is, quite possibly, the best show I have ever seen - and we go to (or did) a lot of shows. Not only was it entertaining and thought provoking but it also gets the younger generations interested in history - and that can’t be a bad thing. Once you get your head around the whole hip hop thing it is excellent. Oh, and the King George on the UK show was actually even better than the one on Disney+.
If you get the chance to see Hamilton live in the future I can not recommend it highly enough.
As an aside, I also enjoyed Six and that is currently doing Drive in shows. The show is relatively short but again excellent, the history is broadly accurate and again it gets teenagers interested in something that they would possibly swerve.

Yes I've seen it live and can recommend it. Thought it was really good. Wife and daughter re-watched it on Disney+ the day it was available.

We watched it on Disney+ last week. I’m not a great fan of musicals, but I thought it was excellent.

Watched it a couple of weekends ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. A great (only) opportunity to see the original cast now. Although I do feel the live performance won’t quite live up to the performance on Disney+. I’d still hope to see it though.

My kids are too young to watch but they listen to some of the album and it’s actually sparked a good bit of conversation regarding The Revolutionary War. We’ve all learned something new!

“You’ll be back” is their favourite track .

Have seen it and loved it and i am not normally into musicals. If you do go to see it I would recommend listening to the music several times beforehand as that enhances the experience. If you go and see it for the the first time with no knowledge of the story / some familiarity with the music I can imagine it will be a struggle

I've just been watching season 9 of Curb Your Enthusiasm...the final two episodes feature Lin-Manuel Miranda (wrote and starred in Hamilton)...he seems a good sport and those episode were hilarious.

I saw it this weekend at a friends and thought I'd be enduring it. Took me about 5 minutes before being totally engrossed and invested, here I am almost a week later listening to the soundtrack on Spotify and find myself absent mindedly tapping my feet to Wait For It. For context I'm not much of a theatre-goer even though I do work in that industry. The only musical I've ever really liked was Book of Mormon but Hamilton is absolutely of the same calibre, if not higher.
