Watched him recently in Enter The Dragon, always a terrific screen presence; privately he was a skilled martial artist too. RIP.

yes sad loss have watched 'Enter The Dragon' so many times since i was 14 in 1983 it never gets old....
Bolo is thankfully still with us ......
Had to google him but instantly recognised him from the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise.
RIP, loved those films.
He had an amazing run in Italian genre cinema in the seventies and eighties, which has barely got a mention in most of the obits I've read.
Umberto Lenzi's rollicking crime thriller Napoli violenta is a personal favourite. Along with Dario Argento's classic giallo/horror Tenebre. He has small but memorable roles in both.
RIP.
RIP John.
Most people don't know that Saxon was a teen movie idol in the 1950s:
I remember he starred in the first video tape we ever rented when we got a vhs player. It was a ridiculous sci-fi thing that I’m sure we lapped up as kids.
Loved him in Apocalypse Domani and plenty of cheesy Italian Giallo films.

Anthony Franciosa plays crime novelist Peter Neal who goes to Italy to promote his new book. Murders follow him everywhere, apparently inspired by it. Neal becomes the classic giallo amateur sleuth. A big twist at the end. Enough gory deaths to win it a place on the "video nasties" list, some bravura camerawork, and a pounding Goblin soundtrack. Last of the truly great Argentos.
Ah yes I remember there was an ground floor apartment that has a killing in it iirc
Thanks
Always a big fan of the great and imho very underrated Mr Saxon, it’s always sad to see another movie hero of mine go the great studio in the sky..
RIP
On a lighter note his syrup in Enter the Dragon was surely the real star of that extraordinary curates egg of a film.

As with many of these types of film of this genre/era it wasn’t so much what the film was about as how it looked and sounded. Atmosphere is everything.
I finally saw Fulci’’’s The Beyond recently and was thoroughly confused, nothing made sense but boy was it creepy and the soundtrack was great!
