I have to say that although I love my 5980 I’d be very tempted by a 5726. I recently tried the new one and I really liked it, more so than the 5740.

It rinsed right off, it was harder to get it out of my hair! I’m glad I don’t have any more ceilings to sand.

I find the 5740 a bit busy and that looses some of the practicality of a watch for me. That coupled with no second hand and a pointer date (which I really dislike). The 5980 is sublime, this was a contender when I purchased but the availability was always an issue. I must admit the only windows that I look at on mine are the date and occasionally moon phase against the sky (more to check after a while that it’s still correct).

Was waiting excitedly for this today, purchased a couple of weeks back and went directly from the buyer to Brendan for a little work. Very happy! The only downside being its now almost too good to wear.
