My 2020 holiday watch with the aftermath of Cyclone / hurricane Ianos on Kefalonia taken yesterday.
I have lost the car, have no cash as the ATMs are not working.
Have not had water or power for three days and have only eaten cream crackers as we can’t get food.
I have to say it’s a shambles of a response from the Greek authorities. Makes the UK look organised.
The first helicopter and troops landed 24 hours after the storm passed.

I had to help rescue an old lady and 2 families from the waters and put them up for the night.

Still we are alive. The same cannot be said of a couple that were on a boat in the Harbour they would not leave and paid the price.

    Still it beats working....

Good grief! That's a holiday to remember. I hope things get organised for you quickly and you get home safely. Best wishes and good luck.

My goodness, how tragic & my favourite Greek island. Looks like you are in Agia Efimia where my wife & I spent 2 weeks there a couple of years ago. Glad your OK.

Yep! Thanks for the well wishes. It’s been a infesting few days.
The Mrs family are from about 2 miles up the valley. We are now safe there and we have a well for water thankfully.
    The area is devastated.
It’s such a shame to see people I know absolutely bu99ered especially after the holiday season they have had.
You help where you can but I am lucky I can get home (eventually) they will have to deal with this for months if not years
There is still no running water on 70% of the island. Illness will quickly follow if it’s not reinstated soon. The local mayor is saying another three days. 6 days without water is unthinkable.

I took my Steinhart Ocean 39 GMT 500 away to Crete this year, pool, beach, sea, swimming, snorkelling and still look great in the evening also.....exceptionally comfortable with superb BGW9 lume, making shine after dark.

My holiday watch is a Seiko monster. Bomb proof, waterproof and under the radar.

Plus I have a few colours to choose from!

Wow, nice. And I think my SKX and mini turtle are too similar...

I guess that’s what I would call a collection in the proper sense, as opposed to what I do, which is buy some watches I like and keep them together

    Thanks.

I see it that I have the choice from Generation 1 to 4 with their subtle differences and then different straps and case colours as well as the dial colours to choose from but if I get bored I have my second collection to consider!

Plus here is my newest arrival, a Halloween Gen 2 Monster

It must take ages to decide which one today.

    Quite easy…

    1) Am I on Holiday?
    2) Am I doing heavy work?

If no then I wear something that matches my shirt!

Trying out my new hand made travel case on this short trip.

Just one watch and strap,I love this one for its simplicity, the 100m WR is a bonus.

Ahhh, holidays... I remember them fondly and have been preparing for holidays since 2019 despite having gone nowhere: Renewed the whole family’s passports, skiwear all round (already too small for the teens), new luggage, uninterrupted travel and car hire excess insurance, and more. I live in hope.
At least my holiday watch purchase hasn’t gone unused

I was put off by the colour of this on the website but that looks so much better than the website suggests!

£200 Apple Watch SE. Price wise almost puts it in beater-category. All the functions of the fancy one including steps and heart rate, useful for taking photos on your phone with you in frame when you stick it on a tripod!
