Mixing up the collection and buying unseen

I'm in a consolidation phase of a small collection, and have been mulling over a few pieces, but I've yet to see any in the metal, so would be interested in any thoughts from owners or those who have handled the following:

    Rado Golden Horse 1957 LE
    Nomos Tangente Silvercut
    SIF NART 1948 Blue
    AnOrdain Model 1 Iron Creme
Anonimo - Nautilo Nendaz Freeride Special Edition
Possibly Montblanc Heritage GMT - just not sure about them as a watch brand - pens, sure.

They are all quite different, and very different from my staple diet of Diver and Military-style pieces. Which is part of the plan. But as they aren't commonly found it's difficult to make a call, especially given the obstacles in getting to and in ADs these days.

    Thanks

Rare that no one has posted a comment on a TZ thread!

Having thought on this further I think the list has now shrunk to:

    Nomos Tangente Silvercut
    SIF NART 1948 Blue
Anonimo - Nautilo Nendaz Freeride Special Edition

But now also includes Vertex M100

Thoughts from owners, or anyone who's tried them on, welcomed.

They're not common watches and unlikely many are familiar with several of them (or maybe that's just me!).

If you posted pictures I'm sure more would comment.

It's a very nice watch especially in silver - there was one in the Selfridge sales for £1290 and I wish I'd jumped on it. I know watch collectors are very sniffy about Montblanc but I have a Heritage Chronometrie and it's very nice and is a keeper. At the right price, very good watches.

I’ve owned the Vertex and it is an amazing bit of kit. Could be difficult to get one either new or second hand would unfortunately.

    Of your shrunken list -

Personally not keen on Nomos but if you like the style...
The date implementation on the SIF is awful, sitting within the 3 numeral. Might be okay w/o that.
Not keen on Anonimo either, just another dull dive watch IMO.
    Vertex is ok.

Personally prefer the Rado (know not very popular) or probably my preference, the AnOrdain (never seen before and definitely different).

I've always had a soft spot for the SIF NART, but not this one …

    Look at the date window

There was an original model on eBay last week for a decent price. Much better …

    Sorry, I'm no help whatsoever

The Nomos or Anonimo for me or both :D

Anordain for me. The options listed are all quite different though, it depends on what you’re after, I guess.

Thanks Joe. That would be great. I’m undecided between the date window options, and a wrist shot would be perfect. It may be that it’s so small it makes little difference.

The AnOrdain is still very appealing, probably tying for second place with the Vertex. The Anonimo moves up and down the preference list each day.

I can check on Tuesday or Thursday subject to quarantine and the shop being open.

For wrist photos I should add I have 8”” inch wrists, which I now understand may be large, so proportions may not directly useful.

Well he’s in good form and a real character. Tiny workbench assembly, lots of celeb photos and great stories.

There’s a photo below on my wrist which may not give a great sense as my wrist is 8inch. I’ve put it next to my Emergency 2 for a silly perspective.

Thanks Joe. Very jealous of you being able to visit. I think I'm going to go for it.

The Nomos is a timeless Icon, I would be looking at that, the Anonimo is also on my list.

Suggest you check quickly the price as GBP doing well again USD today and local prices are being quoted as variable.

If you buy in person here you could claim back 14% sales tax at the airport.

If you check the small print they will change the hands to red coloured, etc if you request.
