    New car - Lotus content

Hi all, the below new (to me) car arrived on Monday. It’s a 1.6 club racer with optional power pack to give a modest 150 BHP. However that’s really only half the story as this car has been on a serious diet! Having covered a few hundred miles in the last few days I can honestly say it’s far from down on power. Handling and braking is of course amazing and not that it’s relevant fuel consumption is incredible. I debated on bigger power Elises but for my capabilities this is more than enough and having already left an S3 for dust on a B road near us (not sure he was really trying) I couldn’t be happier.

Not sure how to get into track days but am planning on looking into it, maybe for next summer but for now I’m just going to enjoy it over the remaining summer.

Beautiful car, love the colour. Good health to drive and enjoy.

As we say in Ulster, “keep her between the hedges.”

Congratulations. I had an S2 Elise many years ago and loved it. You don't need a huge amount of power in these to get great enjoyment from them. I will likely get another Elise one day. Enjoy!

Love it. I owned an evora S SR for a couple of years. The only thing that frustrates me was so few dealers. My closest was 90 minutes away.

Bet it will be lots of thrills that, just stay off the pies, you don't want to blunt the performance.

    It’s easy peasy.

I suggest that you sign with Lotus-on-Track: https://www.lotus-on-track.com/ When you’re ready, book a day and make sure that you book lots of tuition to go with it. If you want to be a bit more studious about it, investigate the Lotus Academy. Proper tuition in a current Lotus at the company track at Hethel. https://www.lotusdrivingacademy.com/

    Nice work.

Can I most sincerely recommend you do a Car Limits day. You’ll learn loads and it will help you when you go on track.

As for getting in to track days, I recommend joining Lotus on Track. They are very good.

Very nice, did you buy it from Lotus Silverstone as that’s where it originated?

My Exige S bore the plate KX65 CHV

It did originally come from Silverstone and it’s going back there for a service a week on Friday. I however got it from it’s second owner. It’s got a FSH from Silverstone too which luckily for me is only about 30 miles away.

Thanks for all the info. On track days guys, especially the Lotus academy which looks to be a great option.

Lastly SM, I’ve not driven it with the roof on yet!
