Received an e-mail this afternoon which contained this:
Having owned and sold two of these, one bought for £8.5k and the other for £9k I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry.
I remember at the time getting stick on here for paying such a premium for a watch with a dog on it.
This model had 1,970 watches made and the price is now 7 times original list price, I'm very nearly speechless, but not quite
Bargain.

Wow crazy money! Did you get near £34,950 when selling either of yours Ken?
Never understood this and never will, I guess. This was a truly awful rendering of the Speedy IMO.
”But you see, it is not those who ask, but those who pay!!” and so on.
As you all know, theres alot of things that dont make sense in this hobby
Sorry for your loss Ken , you need to get that Connie you promised yourself before they go through the roof .
Who is paying that though and why? The original Snoopy is c£8k+ and the STs were limited to c2000 but are even less.

I honestly don't know. Even the 35th anniversary Apollo XI panda and the Blue dial Gemini IV LEs are both still below £10k and they are far nicer watches. The Silver Snoopy seems to have become THE watch to own, sort of Omegas answer to the White dial Ceramic Daytona.
Once a watch gains that kind of reputation I'm assuming people with deep pockets (and few brains) just have to have one.
