New arrival this week
First Friday for this one... I am honestly surprised at just how much I like this watch, I know it’s the honeymoon period but it really is a properly cool watch. Have a great weekend everyone
This old friend for me. What a great watch!
Happy Friday all.

Thank you, of course, happy to. It is electronic, with an ESA 9154 Dynotron movement used by various manufacturers in the early ‘70s. It’s got an electric balance wheel motor - the ‘electronic’ designation comes from the use of a transistor to switch the current as the balance wheel oscillates. If you look closely the minute markers on the dial look like transistors. The fact that there are only three markers between each hour index is only one of it’s idiosyncrasies.

Helvetia was part of ASUAG by this point I think, but have a proud independent history of their own which is covered very well on the helvetiahistory.co.uk site created by a TZ-UK member, enfield.
