    Question regarding import duty

If I have an item that needs to be sent to the US for repairs (chargeable as it out of warranty), would I have to pay import duties when it is sent back to me?

I think there is a declaration form you can fill in for just such a scenario,
    Cheers..

Thanks. Always wondered how this actually worked.

    No problem.

I couldn't see anything about filling in a form, but the last time I had something returned from abroad because of repair, I had the sender write that it was being returned after warranty repair on the little green customs declaration label, and on the box itself.

Let us know how you get on.

Why does it need to go the US for repair?

Good question! I was thinking the same.

It doesn't actually have to go back to the US but I feel more comfortable letting the manufacturer repair the product and they don't have any presence in the EU.
