Thread: New (to me) Car Day

    New (to me) Car Day

The 410 was delivered today, on my Birthday too, which was nice

Really pleased, but it will be a couple of days before I can drive it. Carpal tunnel op yesterday, so I have almost no grip strength in my left hand at the moment.

By that time I should have it on AE13 XGE

Nice one. I hope there is some cabin stowage. The Evora (I think, it was a new Lotus that began with an E) I drove a while back didn't even have anywhere for your wallet and phone.

Storage is minimal but there is just about space for a wallet & phone.

That’s a fine vehicle. Hopefully you will have a speedy recovery and get behind the wheel soon.

One of the most pleasing aspects is the wheels, nice traditional silver alloys instead of the current trend for black. Black wheels look awful IMO.

Not sure where you’ll be able to drive it to its full potential, but its a nice toy to own.

Get well soon from the op!

What decade are we in.........the 70s?

I agree, I fondly recall the JPS black/ gold livery, circa’76, it was a good look.

Another vote for some temporary gold accents.

There was also another colour scheme that worked well - was it red and gold? Sure I saw it on an Elan...

That looks lovely. Seriously hope you get out and enjoy it soon.

JPS livery on a black Capri did look good. My jurys definitely out with extra gold on the 410.

    Happy belated birthday BTW.

    Cheers,

    J

Yes, the old Gold Leaf Team Lotus livery. Lotus used it on some Elans, and (from memory) a limited edition Europa.

Fags may be a bit bad for you, but they provided some great racing car liveries.

A belated happy birthday, Andy, if it's actually you!? Get well soon, and enjoy the car, it looks fantastic.

    Thanks again.

I won't be adding any gold.

I have added a splash more yellow, to go with the calipers and compliment the interior colour theme as below

by way of a Lotus Sport sun strip, like this one I had on the 380

    Plate transfer sorted this morning

The interior looks great too! Those carbon seats are a thing of beauty. I recently got some carbon-kevlar corbeau le-pros and the weight difference over standard is huge.

Agree with the wheels being silver, they look really good. Black cars with black wheels just doesn't look good.

Lovely - I live up in Norfolk and watched one of these negotiate a roundabout like a scalextric car a couple of weeks ago, a proper boys toy! And good luck with tie carpal tunnels, had both mine done - my advice is keep it moving (the hands not the car!)

Fantastic choice, Andy - congratulations! These cars only make sense if you know how to drive and use them appropriately. I'm glad someone does and Lotus keep making them as a result.

Golf - each to their own but no thanks. I guess if one was a Golfist, a set of clubs might go in the passenger seat with the roof off.

Happy birthday, Andy, the car looks sensational! I can see a 410 in my future after your recent Lotus thread twigged me onto these. I had never followed Lotus until you opened my eyes and now I am Exige obsessed, reading and watching everything I can find. Hope your hand heals quickly as the wait must be a test of patience.

A belated Happy Birthday, and wow what a wonderful present! It's a beaut, the silver wheels look great and the nice yellow splashes inside.

I do love the look and sound of the Exige but I think my Elise is enough for me at the moment, must admit not having the coloured interior is something I regret not getting in mine
