Sounds about right to me. I have the same watch and there is certainly more resistance than any of my other watches when I hand wind them, as long as it winds smoothly then I think you're good.
Hi folks,
Picked up a 2007 stowa Marine original with manul wind..watch is keeping good time and in excellent condition but seems a little high tension to wind. The crown isnt the most ergonomic. I'm wondering if it's normal or should I get a service.
Thanks,
Mick

I take it thats a 6497 / 6498 ?
I have owned 3 or 4 watches with that movement and all were very easy to wind, only getting stiff when nearing being fully wound up.
Perhaps it just needs a service / inspection, what people tend to do is neglect to service them at all and run them into the ground and sell on.
A horrible thing to do but there are horrible people.
6498. I might ask watch fixer to service. It's probably due.
Going to send back to stowa for service..it actually felt easier to wind today. Maybe just needed to be run for a while
