    How safe is PayPal ?

In process of shipping something to Russia, buyer wants to pay via PayPal
    How secure is PayPal ?

If they pay via paypal goods and services then they have buyer protection I think.

So any problems then they may be able to force a full refund of the money.

That is how I have always viewed it anyway.

Paypal tend to favour the buyer and not you the seller in these cases I believe.

Paypal is 100% secure, but in my opinion is weighted toward the buyer.
He says it never arrived and you are left to foot the bill.
Having said that, its been very useful for 15 years of my lfe.

Well my first question is - are they actually paying via paypal - whole number of scams where it can *appear* you have been paid and you end up out of pocket - the shipping to russia raises some alarm bells for me (but could actually be entirely fine).

The first question - are they paying a realistic amount for the item? A warning sign is often if they want to pay over the odds.

If you are being paid friends and family and you are careful, you should be OK.

One other thing to consider is that PayPal can arbitrarily freeze your account and withhold your money for a period of time, and there’s not much you can do about it.

Not true. There has been a case buyer paid paypal f&f funded by credit card. Sometime later did a credit card charge back, seller lost goods and funds, plus Paypal would not help the seller as it was friends and family.

Send to a paypal verifed adress only (if you have doubts), make photos/videos of packaging and you should be fine (if some problem occures)

I think I’d have issues with both as others have said the recipient just needs to say it’s not arrived
What sort of money are we talking about

How much are we talking about? When I sell on Ebay i'd ship to Russia on a £50 item but won't on a £500 auction.
