Lovely story, some photos would be a good thing to do next!

Tonight I came across my first ever watches.
1. An Ingersoll manual wind with date, shock resistant, and which I see still runs VERY sweetly having wound it up. I honestly don’t think it’s been wound since mid 70s!!!
And
2. a Mortima anti magnetic, Mayerling(?) 17 jewels that’s very sadly not running. Over wound me thinks.
I recall getting both of these from an old old auntie as they’d been her families before me.
Huge wave of sentimentality and fond memories flooding back of good times gone by. Bizarrely my late mother’s birthday was two days ago adding a touch of poignancy.
The watch that replaced them was my yellow pogue which I still have from late 70s
What to do now!!

This thread needs pics😁
Would be great to get them both serviced and running .
Here’s hoping they load
I never get the uploads Of pics right. Sorry folks.
Far easier on other fora.

The Ingersoll has run very sweetly since I wound it for the first time in many years on Friday.
Well pleased and bringing back memories of happy childhood days.

Unfortunately most of my childhood watches ended up in the bin . Mostly Casio and cheap quartz .
My appreciation for mechanical watches has come later in life. My family don't really share the same passion.
Although my Dad and Brother always show a interest in what im wearing or new purchases.
Your family had good taste! My first watch given to me by my parents in the early 70's was a Timex. I still have it and it still runs. :)
