    Sonos S1 S2?

I have an old Sonos Play 1 and two new Sonos One SLs.

The app has updated itself on my Apple devices to S1, which now says it’s incompatible with my system and I need to update to S2.

My wife has done this and now she says the Play 1 has disappeared. Have Sonos stopped supporting the Play 1?

No. Mine are updated and work fine alongside a Beam and two One SLs

Btw there are now two apps an old S1 version and a newer S2 so make sure you have the correct one.

My house is full of the play1 speakers and whatever it’s called I’ve got plugged into the zeppelin, running the S2 brown app icon.

    Ta. Working now.

I find the Alexa service on mine sometimes stops working and I have to reinstall it.

Sorry if I am being a bit thick here...

I too have some old Sonos Products (Bridge/Play5s) as well as newer stuff. My App is currently S1 so is it OK to go to S2 and still all work together as I want or is this the "fork in the road" and need to stick to S1 as I don't want 2 groups of speakers ?

Run the compatibility test in the app. It'll tell you what will work and what won't before you upgrade to S2.

I had to remove my bridge to upgrade. Wasn’t an issue. I believe if your 5 speakers are old, you either keep S1 or end up with 2 different systems, which to me at least defeats the purpose of it being Sonos

Sonos seem to be making a bit of a meal of their product life cycles imho.

Yes exactly. I'm sticking with S1 even though some of my devices are S2 compliant. Don't know what extra stuff S2 does anyway.

Yes if you have a Bridge, take it out, forgot to mention that.
