Blancpain FF or Glashutte Sea Q panorama

I am torn between them , they are similar prices after discounts any thoughts...?

Never owned the Glashutte, but have owned the standard Black 45mm FF and now have the Blue titanium FF. What can you say, a brand with a rich history, superb build quality and one of the cleanest dials around and attention to detail is superb. The 45mm as stated many times wears more like a 42mm watch and comes in a choice of bracelet or Sailcloth with buckle or deployant.

I'm sure someone will be along soon to say how marvellous the Glashutte is, but in all honesty for these kind of watches wouldn't it be worth the effort to go and see both in the flesh.

Having tried both on and having owned the black dial FF I'd say go Blancpain. The bracelet on the Glashutte is a work of art but I feel the large date ruins the sporty ethic and also the FF just has more 'theatre' about it, plus despite the 45mm case size the smaller lug length makes it wear very well on all but the diddliest of wrists.

Two fine watches, two highly respected manufactures and two genuine pedigrees in terms of the originals that inspired the current designs. For design-related reasons alone I'd go with the Fifty fathoms, though, as I find the Sea Q a tad lacking in refinement (visually, I mean - it has a great movement and will no doubt be finished exquisitely).

Here’s a wrist shot when I tried it on, the SeaQ wears big, definitely bigger than the FF. I have very flat wrists and can own a 42mm GO watch, but this was just a bit too big (perspective of the shot makes it look bigger)

I’d also say on the bracelet maybe a tad heavy. So you need to try both on. But if the SeQ fits well for you, I’d get that, it’s a superb watch. But the FF in Ti is I suspect a better wearing watch.

The Sea Q has a beautifully finished case and bracelet and ouzes quality, and should be a genuine alternative to a FF/Sub, but I really can't find any love for the dial numerals and handset.
BP all the way for me.

BP, I don't like the mix of arabic and markers on the glashutte. Plus the FF is the more iconic of the pair.

Another vote for the Blancpain, despite being a fan of GO.

The two dive models they sell don't work for me. One is too big, and the other has faux- vintage lume which I personally don't like much.

I'd also consider the BP Bathyscaphe if you haven't already.

I notice the OP is in Manchester and there is a Blancpain dealership just down the M62 in Leeds.

Might be worth a drive.

That GO looks like a Longines Hydroconquest to me. I like GO a lot but that model is not their finest moment.

I'm with the BP brigade. Something about most of their watches and the designs being simply stunning. Aesthetically the GO just misses the mark but I can't put my finger on why.

I find myself loving the GO, looks that little bit different from the majority of diver style watches. If one were available at a decent discount I would be very tempted. Black rather than blue I think.
