Tnx Man. Hmm, the new Speedy? I don't think so, I can't really justify the price bump for a basically the same watch. I know, the movement and the new bracelet are top notch, but I kinda like old school 1861. I may get the new bracelet though....

I know you wanted to see it wet, so it goes! :)

BTW, seeing Speedy in EVA is cool and all, but have you seen one dropping through a wormhole? Inception inspired shot (no photoshop, free style light painting here!)

    SOUND ON

This is what the Speedy would see in the blackness of Space near the Black Hole Event Horizon where no light is visible around you.

    Thanx mate

Actually I love the new 3861 Speedy bracelet so much that I almost ordered brand new one from AD for my 1861. I always find the 20mm Speedy bracelet too bulky.
But when I saw that Uncle Seiko made his own version of 1479 I just had yo try it. If we ignore the clasp difference, the visual and vintage feeling is really on point. Links are full metal, solid endlinks and the finish is fantastic. The best part is, watch is so much lighter on the wrist. I don't think I'll switch to OEM bracelet soon

It usually lives on NATO straps, even more on weekends when you get wasted in alcohol and need something secure

    Something like this

I bought that and one of his 1450, they are both superb. I personally prefer the 1450 but they both capture the vintage vibe very well and are excellent quality.

Love the pics, the watch always looks amazing even with my OCD about seeing people wearing NATO straps “incorrectly” :-)

Stunning shots, I've got a Speedy 'reduced' from this place and I adore it. I think upgrading to the actual Pro is a longer term goal of mine. Ever since I got into watches, the Speedmaster has been the epitome of watches for me, a properly 'timeless' design, and the history too...

Do tell. I wanna try the correct way. You mean with the "under loop" going around your wrist?

Only kidding there is no incorrect way, but I find this way much nicer to wear and makes the watch look neater on the wrist.

I put the watch mid way on the strap and double back the short tail keeper to the buckle. The extra now sits across the bottom of the wrist rather than the side.

You’ll have much less tail to tuck in or out and makes the watch less bulky with long sleeves.

Hope it helps give you more look options.

First of the Space inspired Speedy shots, in colors of the Crab Nebula, also known as the M1, NGC 1952, Taurus A) - a Supernova remnant in the constelation of Taurus. Size? About 11 Light Years and it's expanding at a rate of 1.500 km per second!

In center lies a pretty small Neutron star (only 30km across) but spinning about 30.2 times per second!

his Speedy Space shot is inspired by the Blue Ring Nebula

Nebula was created by the merger of two stars, and that we are seeing the system a few thousand years after the merger, when evidence of the collision is still apparent

The blue light in the image shows the debris cloud created by the merger. As the hot cloud of material expanded into space and cooled down, it formed hydrogen molecules that collided with the interstellar medium (the particles occupying the space between stars). These collisions caused the hydrogen molecules to radiate far-ultraviolet light, yellow indicates near-ultraviolet light, which is emitted by the star at the center of the nebula and many surrounding stars.

    You're welcome Robinsongreen68

One of the most beautiful neighbors just located in fairly close 6000 light years from us is the Lagoon Nebula (also known as Messier 8, M8, NGC 6523). A giant intersteller cloud in the constellation Sagittarius.

So this "giant" is not such a big giant at all, only 33 light years across, but it has the most spectacular colors, which were captured in the background, case and glass of the Speedy Pro

Best looking watch of all time?

I think so. Absolutely perfect. Pure class.

Must try mine on a NASA velco, how much are they?
