Not sure it was a price rise from what I read - just an updated price list. Unconfirmed still, but BB58 blue reportedly slightly cheaper than current BB58

Sounds interesting, certainly seems that way from the Jenni Elle vid and a look at the new pricelist itself.
How blue will it be? Just the bezel, or dial too? Will it still be gilt, or will it be steel details?

    Interesting

    Interesting
Steel details and blue dial from what I hear. Very confused re pricing however. Her video suggests €3340 for the blue but also states it’s a bit cheaper than the standard bb58. Standard bb58 is £2760 though which works out at €3035.

With Tudor/Rolex RRPs the Euro and pricing in other currencies tends not to convert back to an equivalent amount in sterling.

Hence the often stated stuff about the UK still being the cheapest market.

Hence the number of folk, whose reference currency isn’t GBP, trying to buy in the UK market.

Here is a shot of the new blue BB 58, the blue looks much richer and I am hoping this is an accurate rendition.

Lume plots look slightly creamy as well? or maybe just the lighting.

If you read some of the comments on her video there's a chap that states he has one already on order and due to collect upon release, he hasn't seen it in the metal yet however the 'photo he posted a link to was for an all blue (bezel and dial) with no guilt and no red triangle.

    It looks absolutely ace, IMO.

That does look lovely, just got of the phone with my AD and put a theoretical order down.
    Fingers crossed for next week.

Something tells me that Tudor is not give going people what they actually want. It's not in their DNA. I do hope I am wrong. That is gorgeous.

Jenni. She ruined it a little by telling us her husband woke her up at 5.30am though. Stupid husband.

I'd quite happily give her a nudge at 5.30.

I would need to see it in person but think it would have looked far nicer with a black dial for some contrast.

Have registered my interested for one so will make a decision once in stock.

Just spoke to my local Tudor Ad, and they are getting back to me on details (what they can share and when), but they did confirm a new watch soon, including a non-selling display model. They have already taken deposits (5 so far) for the new watch (10%), despite not being able to confirm details yet.

Is this potential new release BB58 39mm that far removed from what is already available in the Blue Black bay 41mm, which is and has been since it’s release readily available at all ADs.

If they are releasing the blue on blue dial and bezel it is trying to capture some of the 79090 vibe but the black bay collections are no 79090 or 94010 and for me this move is just confirming that Tudor at this moment are relying too heavily on vintage homages, becoming a one trick pony.

That looks great. The BB58 is a really nice watch and I’m sure this version will live up to the existing one.

I love my BB58 and I would be all over a blue dial/blue bezel version. Not so sure the black dial / blue bezel is different enough though. Let’s hope it’s the former

The blue bezel is nice. I imagine it’ll cannibalise sales of the regular BB. I also wonder if they will keep the 58 name, as the “real” 58 was to commemorate a classic model. Either way it’ll sell like deep fried heroin no doubt.

Nice, but I’d still choose the current BB58 which I wear every day at present.

I would take that with a pinch of salt, my AD (Goldsmiths) says it is a new mainstream model. It may well be hard to get hold of for a while though, like the original 58.

I have my order in now, calling in Wednesday to check the situation once the AD's have had their briefing from Tudor.

What’s the difference between a Tudor sub and the 58? Mercedes hands? I can’t see a modern Tudor dive watch deviating from the Snowflake hands as that is key to the brand.

Agreed. Tudor has in recent years strived to become a brand in its own right rather than just Rolex’s little brother - look at the way they’ve invested in brand ambassadors and in-house movements. The snowflake hands are synonymous with Tudor and a key part of brand ID. Mercedes hands, and the name Submariner are both a key part of Rolex ID and re-introducing such things to the Tudor brand would be a step back to when they merely offered cheaper versions of Rolex watches.

The BB58 is the closest you’ll get to a release of a Tudor Sub in my opinion, with the popularity of it hopefully pushing them to expand the colourway offerings. This blue is a great start.

  38. #38
Have to say and I am aware that this goes against the mainstream but bit sick of the colour blue! Would have liked something else colour wise or even a ghost or faded bezel.Hopefully seeing the watch will change my mind.

    I’m torn on this one.

Blue bezel BB58 is great and all but it seems like such an obvious move. So many other things they could do with different lines (redesigned ranger, shrunk-down pelagos, even a middle-sized fixed bezel BB38). A totally new line would have been even better!

I realise this release doesn’t preclude any other of the ones I mentioned but Tudor is meant to be the exciting, daring alternative to Rolex’s conservatism. Maybe it’s just a counter-move to last year’s P01, but I’m a little underwhelmed by the prospect.

A blue BB58 may just sway me to actually buying my first Tudor - the GMT was just too big for me and the original 58 just a bit too vintage-looking, but a great size... liking the look of the new blue 58 as a weekend watch or on a rubber strap for holidays...

We just need to see it now

There will be a Blue BB58, which is a good thing.
We know it will have a blue bezel. Also good.
Sources indicate blue dial, but not all agree. Blue would be better than black, otherwise the blue on the bezel looks a bit of an afterthought (as it does no me on the BB41 blue).
Most suggest that hands and dial markings will be steel/silver, not gilt. That's okay.
Personally I think the dial minute indices should be white, but this is not on Tudor's pallette at the moment.
The photo above seems to show a slight vintage colour to the lume (which I doubt).
In any event, it will sell very well, and it deserves to, but Tudor are drip-feeding their crown jewels into the market extremely slowly by releasing a single watch.
I doubt I will be in the market for this. With a Pelagos, BB GMT and snowflake already, this new one doesn't really cover any new ground for me. Unless it is straight out gorgeous (blue with white print on the dial, silver hands, slightly vintage lume).

Yup! That would be my pick. I tried desperately to get on with the BB36 but it was a tad too small, and the 41 was just too big. I’ll keep dreaming...

I have to say a blue bezel is a bit underwhelming. Hardly born to dare.

I wonder what they will call it as it isn’t really a 58 reference at this point.

I may be in the minority here, but all I want Tudor to do is sell me a regular Black Bay black bezel with a date complication. Just that.

Glad they went for the blue dial, looks to be matt finish as well.

If they had the imagination to go with square plots and no white gold surround this would be a must have, as it is I will likely go with a Seiko 62Mas SPB147 instead

New Tudor 30 June and price rise 1 July

Looks really tasty... was the right decision to drop the gilt for the blue one, differentiates them nicely.

ETA: Just want them to do a 39mm Bronze now, I’m ‘bored’ of steel...
