In my opinion it’s a fake
This came to me on an old Speedmaster - does it look genuine or are we talking fake/copy?
Only reason I ask is that I was going to put it up for sale as I won't use it but I don't want to advertise a fake for obvious reasons!
Note that there's no pip over the E on OMEGA. Also if you look at the last picture the stainless steel round OMEGA has a slightly corrugated effect even though it feels smooth. You only notice this if it catches the light in a certain way.
The OMEGA font looks correct and the other engravings look OK too.
In use it works fine and looks OK but I don't have any experience of Omega deployments so there's nothing I can compare it to.
Your thoughts please.
TY

OK thanks - I think that's confirmed what I suspected!
100% fake. The real ones have what is widely known as the idiot button just under the Omega text, which releases some of the mechanism. The fakes do not. I have both and that is the latter.
You can see why people buy these, even though they aren't as nice as the original and can be a bit rattly. The fake are around 15% of the price of the real thing.
