Yeah, a truly magnificent car, Pity the presenter sounds like a truly magnificent knob.
I managed about 90 seconds before I had to bin him off.

    Gasp... you don't like Doug?

Yes, it looks fantastic. Anyone had a go?

Doug's got a bit of a nasal voice but he knows his stuff, undoubtedly one of the better YT car guys.

As for the Porker, meh, never liked the Cayman hot version or not!

I can't watch Doug or the vast majority of the Cardashians. I've never worked out how people could be influenced into purchasing a watch, tech, bicycle or car based on random person on the internet whose only qualification is owning a gopro. Most seem to like absolutely everything that they're given to review, because if they were honest, they wouldn't be asked back.

Henry Catchpole, Harry Metcalfe, Jethro Bovingdon, Steve Sutcliffe are more my cup of tea.

With regards to the GT4, I'll have one in Gentian Blue, thanks!

Makes the 4.0l GTS look an even better buy.

I agree, virtually the same car, but with a discount and availability. I think that would be the smart buy. Maybe one day.

[I find Doug very funny, particularly the films with posh British cars like Jags/Bentleys etc.]

    I don’t think these 718 GT4s are limited.

Apparently they have no cap on numbers lime the 981 GT4 had.

GTS 4.0L I think is a far better buy....especially the Boxster, with its roof that pops off. Perfection!

    Full time ridiculous spoiler.
Not for me the GT models.
GTS or Spyder well ahead of that on looks.

I probably one of the few that love the drive of the 4 cyclinder turbo models compared to the older 6C models. The sound maybe not quite so much, but I’d happily swap my Boxster S for a 718 Cayman S, and probably will at some point fairly soon.
It's just a matter of time...

The GT4 is limited in terms of the short production run, it’s the Spyder that’s harder to get an allocation.

I’ve got a 981 S and decided yesterday to get my deposit back for the GT4 as I don’t see that it’s £60k more of a car than I’ve already got. The OPF has ruined the noise too, the 981 sounds far better.

I have an ancient 981 GTS manual, and I sort-of agree.

Does the new car really sound so much worse? It's slightly up on power, 0-60 etc., and the chassis is better, but I'm still enjoying the old motor, and the whole sports car sector must be about to tank. Could be left holding a worthless, if fun, asset. I'm great fun at parties, before you ask.

981GTS in Boxster or Cayman guise will hold its value pretty well.
    Big fan base out there.

    I love the GT4- I had a 981 GT4 in Carmine red ........ sounded fantastic and handled sublime -
but like many folk complain- the gearing is so long it’s ridiculous- 80mph in 2nd gear!
I’ve not driven the 718 GT4 but the critics all seem to love them....

Yesterday Porsche GB put python green on the GT4 and Spyder configurator-
I think it looks the business......better than boring black or white.....
But is this likely to be a popular choice?

I’m hoping so, bought mine 2 weeks before lock down & only used 3 tanks of fuel so far.

Carmine is an awesome colour. I’d definitely choose the green but cannot see why they don’t offer PTS.

If I could have got one in Voodoo Blue with PDK I’d probably not have asked for my deposit back.

I've got a Carmine red 981 GTS Cayman and it was definitely my first choice colour when I was looking. PDK and PTS have been announced in the US for the 718 GT4 and Spyder but at USD 3,210 and USD 12,830 they're now definitely pricing the latter out.

Ouch! It only cost about £2,500 to have the other half’s RS3 painted in an exclusive colour
