    Fathers Day - watches/gifts received

So I have no children, but lost my dad in November to cancer.
My partner bought me a watch from my two cats lol - and a watch box too.
Nothing expensive - BUT love the watch!!!!

Sorry to hear about your dad sweepinghand. I guess Father’s Day is a chance to remember some of the happy moments you spent together in years gone by. So glad to hear you love your new watch and box. As many have said on these forums - a watch’s expense and it’s value to you are not correlated. The fact that you enjoy it is the key. All the best. What is the watch, out of interest?

Thankyou - yes a different sort of day without him - the watch is the bulletproof AE-1200WHD
10 year battery life - more functions than I need - a good backlight too

I’ve seen they are easily modded too with a bit of a scene - people changing the film colours etc
I love it - and we got one for my partners dad - he is geeking out on it
Cost? £30 - seriously, I’m fine with the top end stuff

    Fathers Day - watches/gifts received

Sorry to hear about your dad. That’s a lovely gift from your partner/cats . I got this one (actually received it a couple of weeks ago but kept it stored away until this morning). Again not expensive but I think I’ll be wearing it for a while!

Mr Tetley - thanks for your kind words. Your edifice looks strong in that strap - very cool - and such great value.
    Enjoy Father’s Day eve.

Fittingly given the day and the theme of this post, my father’s digital Casio was the first watch I ever coveted, so they will always have a special place in my heart. When he finally gave it to me, it was the best day ever!

...a drop or two of water may be added - as per the advice at the recent virtual GTG

No gift as such, but it appears* that my son has got the degree he rightly deserves after 4 hard years of slog and that's all the fathers' day gift I need. It just a shame that my father is no longer here as he would be ecstatic.

    * he has the grades for all his modules and has done the calculation to work out what his final grading should be, but has not had the formal notification of his overall grade as yet.

All I got was sweeties and the 1917 dvd. Not complaining! The kids made their own cards though, which were very entertaining. :)

I keep thinking about getting this and just haven’t got around to it. Is it worth getting?

... And how many Mills and Boon and Jackie Collins books do you have to buy from the same bookshop before they'll consider selling it to you if the publisher happens to include one in their delivery?

We wouldn’t have Mills and Boon in our household, let alone Jackie Collins. My household religion wouldn’’t have literature of that sort hanging about.

I was only joking!!! . As soon as somebody mentions religion it all goes quiet... Mills and Boon is way to soft. Great book, didn’t get any hassle from the sellers either. Have a nice Sunday:)
