Very nice. What might be the pusher/crown at 10 on the chronograph?
Surely not a HE valve at 100m rating!!???

"Screwed date corrector" according to the blurb, which I presume means it's a Valjoux 7753 movement or similar.

Handsome looking watches, although the lugs look a little long for my taste.

Does anyone know why more and more makers are using a button or pusher to change the date or day?
Using the crown is much more practical plus it saves having a carbuncle on the case.

I have noticed a number of newer Chronograph movements have the same.

Big fan of Longines but the calendar positions spoil all of these for me, which is a real shame.

And with a huge fanfare, Longines actually release a heritage model range with a WR people can use. Hoooray.
That chronograph is truly lovely, very nice.
I might have preferred a hidden pusher for the date corrector, but with a face that handsome, I can forgive that.
The movement has clearly been tweeked, column wheel and 60 hr reserve too.
    I could wear that...

Tweaked movement and even the date is forgivable. One of Longines best releases in some time IMO.

I'll warrant the blue leather strap won't get much wear though

A nice brown to contrast the dial and sorted!

Is there any history behind the 5-star logo? Puts me off because all I think about is 5* military officer rank.

Yes, it has been on Longines Admiral watches (at least) for many decades, since the 50s I would guess

Really like these, they’re a bit pricier than the average Longines heritage fare but with the movement tweaks I think it’s justified.

If the three-hander was 38mm and the chrono was 40, it would be a slam dunk.

There are more stars on the dial than General Paton, other than that nice watches.

Very nice chrono. I like a lot of what Longines are doing at the moment.

Ah. Whilst I appreciate being true to history then, it’s still something they should have ditched. Looks like an AA hotel rating.

Loving the chrono, and no price premium for the bracelet.

The 5 star logo is dreadful
Trust Pilot ratings should be on a peel off sticker if at all.

Has anyone managed to see one of these in real life? I’ve contacted my AD about ordering the blue dial 40mm three-handed with date.. haven’t seen any on display at any ADs near me here in London though

September as far as I'm aware.

If it was available in 38mm I'd probably have pre-ordered! I'll look forward to seeing the three hander in 40mm though; 42mm is too damn big for that style of watch (although most watches are too big these days, in all fairness!).

The New Longines Spirit Pilots Collection 2020

Wow, first Longines I have seen for ages that I really like.

Usually, I would go for a 42mm Blue dial 3 hander but I am strangely drawn to the 40mm black dialled version! Plus the prestige version comes with bracelet and 2 additional straps

I agree. It's the only thing that spoils it for me.

Does anyone else think this looks more like a field watch than an aviation watch?

I'm not sure...I think the lines are quite blurred between field and aviation. The crown could justify it being aviation inspired...much like an IWC three hander.

Really like that model. Love the dial font and hands. Seems to strike a good balance between looking classic and modern and also between being dressy and tool.

Some of those look quite nice, but the 5 stars remind me of a Russian uniform for some reason!

I’ve had an enquiry for one of these with my AD since they were announced... apparently these are now set to be delivered to ADs in October/November :(

Bringing this thread up from the depths to highlight the new green variant. I think it’s a bit of a looker... I’ll even overlook the cream lume!

This looks to be a very nice shade of green and the dial is textured too. I think this is beige lume rather than faux vintage and works well with the green. I'd definitely recommend the 40mm over the 42mm because of the oddly cut off 3 numeral on the 42, which is dreadful. I've tried the 40mm and it wears quite large because of the normal Longines long lugs. A really nice watch, except for the 5 stars on the dial.

Thread back again. I know that there was some discussion on the new titanium version that has just been released but can’t find it now. However, I just received a new Bucherer Borchure and look was inside as a new Bucherer Blue Edition

DLC steel, 40mm, no date and full 3 for the three hander at €2700

DLC steel, 42mm, chrono at €3510

Quite taken with the 3 hander as I like that sunburst effect but never really sure on a black cased watches!

I’m with you. I can live with scratches but silvery metal showing through damaged DLC irks me so it’s a non-starter for me.

I do really like the look of that titanium one though.
