    Used to own the polar surveyor. A great little thing and highly recommended. However, Kobold has had a rough ride the last few years.

    I reviewed the watch in my blog here;

    Hope you get some more info there!

    it is a very early model, retailed in 2003 for the staggering amount of $6350
    Wow... isn't cheap at all. In fact it seems pretty expensive, even though is titanium, sapphire, Valjoux 7750 (modified).

    Cannot help you with this model but i think you are looking at a rebadged Sinn therefore a solid piece as an aside i have owned a few Kobold watches over the years and have never had an issue with any of them ( apart from WIS boredom) overpriced most definitely, mostly not available out of the US but if you have an interest in Sinn, Fricker and German watchmaking and can go for it then go for it.
    WUS no longer has a Kobold forum but poke the www.

    So that is clearly a re-engineered Sinn 157 case with the addition of the internal bezel. The 157 was reverse engineered by Sinn from the Arctos and Tengler Bund chronographs, and all three used the Lemania 5100 movement to start with. It was also reversed and re-tasked to make the EZM4 chronograph.
    None of the Sinn offerings ever had the internal bezel like that Kobold, I guess they had that covered with the 142 chronograph, although one of those links clearly states that it was a Sinn case plucked from unused stock.
    I owned a Tengler Bund, and it is a curiously inelegant case, very slab-sided, best photographed from the front to avoid the odd-looking height.
    Personally, I would seek out a good Sinn 142 (original Lemania power, not the new one).
    You would get much better long term support for it from Sinn.
    But maybe the 142 case doesn't speak to you the same way.

    I’ve had the watch a few days now and it has not left my wrist. I really like it - it’s made me want a Lemania 5100 😳

    Tried a Di-Modell Chronissimo and received the wrong size. The bracelet it came with is brand new with a croc pattern. Running fast but I actually don’t care. It’s not by much and it’s a watch from the 80’s or 90’s !

    What we said:

    “Yeah. I bough it. It kid of appeared on my eBay and a few months ago I nearly traded my T1 for a Sinn that was very similar (140 I think). I like how old this one is an just serviced. Fully working. Looking forward to it. It was this or the Dreadnought. Hence my offer. It would be cool to have the Dreadnought but I owe Eddie one so may just get a full priced one.
    Warm regards my friend.

    No bracelet - there were only 20 with the bracelet. Leather strap only
