Hello Tomas, welcome to the forum. That's a lovely watch your father gave you. Enjoy your time here.
Hello there,
I have been visiting the forum regularly the last couple of month and I finally decided to come up and say hi to all of you. I come from Barcelona therefore English is not my mother tongue so please excuse me if I misuse your wonderful language .
I am a PhD student on literature (hopefully I will finish next winter) and I have been into watches since I was a kid but never really fully engaged until a year or so. I will be delighted to post my still small and modest collection. Right now I am wearing an Eterna chrono (the one with the Valjoux 72) from the early 70's that my father passed to me when I was 16 (I am 29 now).
I am also thrilled to be here because last Sunday I was fortunate enough to grab a PRS-29A (thank you Eddie). It is my first Smiths watch and I am eager to upload some wrist shots once the watch arrives.
Anyway, I am glad to meet each and every one of you!
Cheers,
Tomàs

Welcome Tomas, great looking watch. Hope you have fun here in the mad house. Your English is great by the way, wish I could speak/write Spanish half as good👍
Hi Tomas and welcome.
Hello Tomas and welcome to the forum, hope your new watch arrives soon, and you enjoy it for many years.
Greetings Tomas, you can't go wrong with the Smith's
Plus anybody with a Gibson Firebird is obviously a man with a taste of the finer things in life.
Enjoy your time here mate

Wow, great watch and a very sentimental one. You're lucky to have inherited a watch from your dad.
How's the situation there in Spain? Stay healthy.
Welcome to the forum Tomas. :)
Welcome , Nice watch that. I might look into finding one . What’s the model number?

Thank you all gentlemen for the kind words!
Thank you! This watch is a bit of a mystery to me because I haven't found that many for sale and therefore not that many information. "Eterna Chrono Ref. 154 FTP-7 (Cal. Valjoux 726)". Right now Chrono24 offers a couple:
https://www.chrono24.com/eterna/chro...id14015039.htm
https://www.chrono24.com/eterna/valj...-id9709355.htm
You can see that the they have different bezels and quite a different price. Dan Henry's timeline helped me to know the watch a little better:
https://www.timeline.watch/watch/197...gatta-154-ftp/
So far I've spotted them with a diver's bezel (which a priori seems strange to me) and then a more chrono "per se" approach with a tachymeter (the one I have) or a telemeter.
Cheers!
I had one of those Eternas, with a Valjouz 726. A lovely watch with a very loud tick.
Welcome to the forum!
