Maybe you should give walkerwek1958 a pro-rata refund, Eddie. Shocking state of affairs.

Does size matter (in ease of migration)?

Presumably there are 0898 numbers where analysts talk about this kind of thing.

Line 1 - I've been a very naughty BA - I forgot to back up my database and now it's corrupted. Hear me work through a list of mitigants.

Line 2 - It's cutover weekend and the clients haven't been informed. Listen as inbound telephony goes pear-shaped and the helpdesk melts.

When I was working I had all sorts of important things to moan about. I have to moan about things that aren’t important at all now. Even I can’t find myself able to moan about this.

Perhaps we should make it more interesting by sticking with “Forum Outrage - Never Trust The Greeks”.

You might be swearing at me there, please be assured I come in peace. 😀

That Trojan Horse stuff was pretty stealthy though I’m sure you agree.

After several failed attempts to log-on, I heard about Blackout Tuesday on social media and thought the TZ-UK shut-down was a planned event out of respect for George Floyd.

That's what I did - had a quiet moment of reflection instead of moaning (to myself)
I thanked my lucky stars that:
    • Myself and my family are safe and virus free
    • I don't live in America or Hong Kong
    • I am not a member of the press being shot at, hit with a baton, or sprayed with tear gas.
    • And I am not being victimised, persecuted, or exposed to racial hatred and abuse.

The forum went down for less than one day- get a grip.

The fact the forum still runs on software outdated in 2013 probably didn’t help matters

There are people on the forum who can help you with that :-)

If it's of any help at all some of you might be familiar with a site called Bleeping Computer.
Even this site has outages and it is surely the ultimate geek site for computing?
It also gives the lie to the fact that in the 21st century computers "just work" 'cos they don't.
Microsoft has paused the W10, 2004 role-out as far as I can tell 'cos it started breaking PC's almost immediatly.

All versions have their problems and this one runs fine 99.9% of the time. If it ain't broke, etc

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".

Sure, but there would be a lot to gain from upgrading too. But thanks for keeping it alive all the same!
