    Clint Eastwood

Is 90 today..I remember back in 1990 there was a season of his films on the TV ..Eastwood at 60. How fast does time go? I will be 60 myself in another decade. Happy birthday Mr Eastwood and keep up the good work.

In the early 80’s my mum used to go out one night every other week to Ladies Circle on a Monday night and after the news at 9.25pm there would often be a film on and it was normally starring Clint Eastwood. My dad would sometimes let me stay up and watch them with him. Always let me have a beer with a lemonade top and a packet of crisps. From that moment on I was a Clint Eastwood fan, still am. His films back then were just totally cool to a young teenager - Outlaw Josey Wales, Pale Rider, The Good, The Bad etc etc.

Funny what memories stay with you.

I've always liked Clint from the days when he played Rowdy Yates in Rawhide, happy birthday.

My late father's favourite actor, some of that rubbed off on me.

Gave me a start as well. Not Dead Yet (NDY) in the title would have helped.
One of my all time favourites even if some of his films were, well, hit and miss. I used to be glued to the old black and white TV to watch Rawhide and I was sad for a week if he didn't appear in that week's episode. He's having a great career.

“Clint Eastwood - 90 today”. Would have sufficed.

perhaps a typecast actor, but what a career as actor and director.

Love Clint Easwood films and my favourite is probably Where Eagles Dare.

Just as a heads up, Sean Connery is 90 in August. Another of my favourite actors.

    Cheers

Spent an afternoon in the BFI watching A Fist Full of Dollars, A Few Dollars More and The Good the Bad and the Ugly. Certainly better than attending lectures.

Josey Wales was also a cracker.

    Hard to pick
    So many greats
Outlaw Josey Wales takes a lot of beating.
Saw "The Mule" recently and it brought a tear to my eye.

As with others a staple when growing up. The spaghetti westerns were the best, dubbed to hell, but classic.

    Sad Hill

    Morning All
Carrying on the Clint theme.. the cemetery set (Sad Hill) used in the classic final scene from The Good the Bad and the Ugly, has been restored to its former glory and you can now visit the site in Spain

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is definitely my favourite. Others I have a soft spot for - Dirty Harry and Magnum Force (the other Harry films were poor IMO), Kelly's Heroes, The Gauntlet, Where Eagles Dare (though Richard Burton owns that one).

I enjoyed Heartbreak Ridge the first time I saw it, in the '80s. But I saw it again a few years ago and thought it was rubbish.
