    Sharpening Garden Shears

I need to sharpen our garden shears and I made the mistake of googling I'm now totally bewildered do I need whetstone, diamond file, metal file, tungsten carbide sharpener or even a grinding wheel.

Any advice appreciated on the cheapest and simplest way to do this.....or just buy some new ones

Lansky sharpening puck from Amazon for £14 is designed for garden shears, lawnmower blades etc. Fairly basic but should do the job.
