Forum hive mind - servicing advice

I have a few things which need proper services (been meaning to get them done forever and lockdown has given me the boot in the rear to get it done). Wanted to use Duncan (Watch Bloke) but his bench is booked out for the next thousand years or so.
Specifically, two Seikos (a 6309 729a and a Pogue) and my West End Watch Co Sowa Prima. The last two should just be a straight up services, the 6309 may need a few bits I think.
Can anyone recommend someone worth me getting in touch with please?

Thewatchbloke (Duncan) would be my first choice especially for the Seikos. He’s a forum member here, I’ve no idea how busy he is though. HTH and good luck.

    Cheers,
    Gary

Been trying to get bench time with Duncan for about a year. He's maxed out sadly (well, not sadly for him, obvs, just for me). Would be (and indeed has been!) my first choice too but it's not going to happen any time soon.

I sent three Seiko to Duncan and his estimated queue at that time was 16 to 18 weeks, so I sent them to him anyway and waited. In the end he turned them around in a little over 14 weeks.

Is he not accepting at all or don't you want to wait that long?

Have you tried Seiko. In my case they couldn't actually do it, which I thought was bizarre. Their solution was to return the Watch to Japan which I declined.

Thanks. Yes, been in touch with Duncan every few months for a while but he's not accepting new work. Apparently his work from dealers is massive at the mo. Maybe Rocco down in Bristol? I don't know him but his reputation is very good. He's a bit more vintage Sub than Seiko though isn't he?

Look at the BHI website and find a qualified member near you.

The last time I spoke to him Rocco he was only working on Rolex, Omega and Brietling.

Unfortunately for you I think a lot of work is being outsourced to good independents from the industry at the moment. I know Brendan (Webwatchmaker) was incredibly busy the last time I got in touch

    Cheers,
    Gary

Duncan @ Genesis? Think he does a forum discount too.

    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Don't think Genesis does Seiko. You could try Sean Yates, based in Middlwich, Cheshire. https://watchrepair.expert

He's got my Tudor Sub at the moment and previously serviced my Explorer. He's BHI member and should be able to help you out.
