Tudor Black Bay 58 Eye Candy

    Hi lads,
so I've got this a couple of weeks with me for a review and thought I show how versatile this watch is on different kind of straps. My wrist is about 7,5'' and although I prefer larger watches (optimum 44mm), having both 58 and the larger 41, I'd go with this one. It really is like a old school 5-digit Sub on your wrist, but just with upgraded mechanics.
So, a couple of shots, hope you like them

    Very good photography.

I’ve tried mine on various straps but have reverted to the bracelet.

Thank you, I'll be sure to quote your comment if someone asks if can I shoot for a Magazine
    Canon 750D + Canon Macro 60mm lens

Just for a comparison, here is a ETA 41mm BBB that i shot three years ago. Same watch but that a difference on the wrist.

Great photos of the 58, but imo they really show that its at its best when on its bracelet.

Lovely work, as always. Interesting, for me, that it demonstrates what a good size the 58 is for all but the larger-wristed.

Shop here will order one in for a 30% deposit, refundable if you don’t purchase.

The chap modelling in the second set with the black bay 41 does not have 7.5 inch wrists by the looks of it. Was always curious of the 58 on a larger wrist

    You're right. On the first set (BB58) it's my wrist - 7,5''
On the second with BBB (41mm) is my Friend, much smaller wrist at 6''

That’s a great looking watch. Had a quick look at various sites but seems to be sold out or “on special order” everywhere. Is it rare or is there some other reason for lack of availability at the moment?

You will have to be on a waiting list to get one with an AD. They do pop up in windows every now and then or sales corner. Shouldn’t be long wait though in any case!

My 19 year old was banging on about this watch on our last holiday and jokingly asking me to buy it for him, as it would be a ‘great investment for me’. Typical teenage chat.

Anyway I recently showed him this thread (and the other one) and said I’m impressed with its look. He then asks if ‘he’ can buy one, to which I said ‘what with?’ . . . . . . Oh the money I saved up in Australia . . . . . When he finished his A levels last year he did a gap year in Perth at a boarding school - fairly low pay but all food and accommodation included. Turns out he was doing 20 hours or more of overtime a week and under Aussie employment laws the pay is much better than here. He saved up about 5k which quite impressed me. I made a call, got a good deal and two days later:

Awesome! He has good taste. Reminds me of when I was 23 and went to get my DJ with my Dad. If only I didn't sell it 6 years later!

First of all, your Son did a wise decision. Not many 19 year old's would drop 5k into something that they will wear for a lifetime. And second, kudos to you, for teaching your Son the proper way to earn on his on. Cheers!

Well if you like it more I don't see why not. BB58 is the next best thing if you wanna have old school Sub 14060 but little modernized.

As lovely as the bb58 is I wouldn’t do it. I swapped my 114060 for the Normal BB (with cash my way) and I’ve always regretted it. Kick myself on a weekly basis as the Tudor didn’t last long in my collection at all.

Standard TZ answer: get both :-)

I may have to get both and just see what works. I’m super disciplined with incomings though, after squandering / losing loads of money early on in my journey. Also have a couple of watches I need to move on; stories for another day and another thread

I went the other way. Had an ETA BBN but found it to be too chunky. I sold it when I found a nice 14060 in a local shop. Not a chance I'd go the other way.

I fancy a red black bay and have been holding out for them releasing the 58 with a red bezel. Hopefully this year.
