    Quality reluming work

I just received my Speedbird 3 back from James Hyman (dreamboat10 on here).

It had niggled me for a while that the lume on the hands was really weak when compared to the dial, so after a quick search I learnt about James and packed the watch off to him to do a relume on the hands, and also paint the hands white rather than leaving them in metal as they were.

The lume he used is Super-LumiNova Radium X1.

Well, the quality of his work is superb. Cast your eyes over this feast...

And the clarity of the lume.

Excellent work from James. A lovely chap to deal with in every way (and yes, I have given him a Hero).

Have seen some real shockers relumes of potential purchases posted here but this does look very good.

Superb result but I wouldn’t expect anything less from Jimbo. True master of his craft and as you say he’s always an absolute pleasure to deal with.

Yes indeed. He knows his work and is excellent at it, and yes - he’s a lovely chap to deal with. Nice to have such a craftsman in our midst. 👍🏻

    Hmmm,
Perhaps I should talk to him about painting the hands of my PRS17C?

Fantastic relume job! I also think the idea to paint the hands white is inspired. Really ties the look of the watch together.

He’s done a great job, good idea on the white hands too.

    Wow, that looks fantastic.

Not even sure I have a watch which needs doing but I want it done!

    Cheers.

I value high contrast on watches, so the white hands was an obvious choice. Makes it even more glance-readable than it was as standard. Given that the primary purpose of a watch is to be quickly readable, I’m surprised it’s not a standard thing to do.

I’ve had watches that look lovely in photos, but when on the wrist are near-impossible to read the time. Kind of defeats the point for me.

Does he have a website or is it just a question of firing off a pm to him on here?

Ive got a couple of watches that would benefit from his expertise.

    Looks great OP / Dave

    James does great work.
