I have a 1971 Seiko Time Sonar 7018 desperately in need of a cleaning and lubrication.
The watch works well and is keeping good time.
Chrono function also works well and resets to zero as does the flyback seconds function.
Unfortunately, the watch stops from time to time and will restart with a gentle shake.
Watchmakers here in Switzerland will not touch it.
Does anyone know of a good watchmaker who knows these watches and would be prepared to work on my watch please?

Well, I looked up Seiko Service Center for Switzerland on the main Seiko site, and it came up with MoBijoux GmbH Dr. Schneider-Strasse 104, 2560 Nidau, Schweiz, Switzerland.
Sent them an email asking if they can repair my Seiko 7018 and received this in reply.
"Unfortunately, there is no movement available for this watch. We have also checked in the international stock of SEIKO, but there is no movement for the repair.
Also other pieces that are necessary for the repair aren’t available anymore.
We are really sorry that we can’t help you."
They were kind enough to reply, but I'm not really sure what "there is no movement available for this watch" really means.
Probably a language issue. Shop is German speaking.
Reminded me of the old joke about a company that sent a fax to their office in Berlin asking them to speed up a report they were waiting for. The answer came back. "We are hardly trying". :)

Someone might correct me on this but I remember reading somewhere that Seiko service centres will typically replace the whole movement. At least you know now that availability is zero but one of the guys mentioned maybe able to service the movement you have.
