IKEA make a desk that is at normal height or electrically adjustable to use for standing. I saw them a few months ago and thought it unusually robust for Ikea stuff.
Having a look around after 8 weeks of working from home and what looks like another few months, can any one recommend a good standing desk?
Not being able to visit a showroom and can only select on line, I am always dubious around build quality and have stable they are when fully raised.
Many thanks, Cavham

Thanks Joe, a friend of mine has one and advised against them, when at full height they are not solid.
Have you tried any yet? If not, I’d suggest to start with a cheap/cardboard-based one, just to see how you like standing all day.
I was in a similar situation last year and went for this one: https://deskmate.co/collections/standing-desks
Think I paid 25£ or something like that.
Now I use a wooden desk, much more solid, from https://www.thekonvert.com but they’re more like 150£+
Very happy with the built quality though.
Good luck
Have a look at Varidesk. They are solid and well made.
I have a Varidesk Pro sitting on top of an Ikea desk.

I’d been considering purchasing a standing desk for years, and never quite found what I thought would be the best fit. I’ve had my Jarvis desk by Fully for about two months now, and have never felt more productive. I split my time between standing and sitting, and the adjustment between the two takes about 10 seconds. It is well built, will not tip if you lean on it, and took me about an hour to assemble with very easy to follow instructions. All in, it was about $500 usd, and shipped within a day. I only needed a 48”x30” desk top, but they have MANY size options.
I’ve had a home office for over 20 years, and this has been the best investment I’ve ever made for it.
I’d recommend a topographic floor mat to use while standing, and an adjustable height stool designed for standing desks.
Talked to a client today who has one and he incorporated a tread mill into his set up. He walked 5.5 miles today while working😃👍
I've looked at this a few times and also would prefer a desk which completely raises and drops rather than something to place on an existing desk. Having had one in an office before you do need to change it at least twice during a working day as standing all the time is as bad as sitting all the time.
I have been considering the Yo Yo Desk on Amazon as it is cheaper than some of the other brands, but don't know whether any good.
I bought one at the start of lockdown and love it, I mix it up through the day, but find it better doing calls standing.
Not sure where you are based but mine came from here. I got an ex demo for £250, so it worth calling them and seeing what’s in stock

Thread resurrection!
Am converting a bedroom into a home office and am looking at installing a standing desk.
I suspect many have done this since first lockdown and some real world reviews and recommendations would be welcome. Am getting some fitted furniture made and wondering whether just to leave a gap to slot in a desk to be bought from a specialist manufacturer or whether the gubbins can be bought and the joiner make a desk top to match the rest of the units
I have two 24 inch screens on telescopic arms that need to attach to said desk
