Image editor with clone brush - For Mac

Hi all, need some advice please for a new photo editor. I used to use Photoshop on Windows in the distant past, and found it easy and quick to use. Also it had the excellent clone brush feature which was really handy. Since using the Mac I've tried a few photo and image editors but they're all pretty complicated or just don't have the clone feature.

Anyone use anything on a Mac which would be suitable? My Mac is running High Sierra Version 10.13.6.

    Thanks
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Have a look at the GNU Image Manipulation Program:

As above, I've started using GIMP on the same version of OS that you have and I like it a lot. Although I haven't used the clone tool it does have one.

Edit. It's free, so you can easily try it.

Thanks guys. I did try that one but it seemed to put images in its own format . I’ll have another try.

I think photoshop CS2.0 is now licence free. The clone tool changed over the years so may not be as good as you remember depending on what version you used before. It improved massively between CS6.0 and the cloud based licence version CC

Are you using 'Save' or 'Export'?

Have a look at Pixelmator. It’s a very well regarded alternative to photoshop. I’m pretty sure it has a clone tool and I’m pretty sure you can get it on free trial.

I use Photoshop/Creative suite on my Macs, works great - why change?

The old version of GIMP required X11 install - but the new GIMP is much simpler to install as it runs on OSX natively.
    No X11 environment is required.
It does save in its own format - but as other have said - when done - you simply export to .jpeg

If you want something simpler - Try LiveQuartz - This version I have is very basic - but has a cloning tool.

I made the same mistake, just use "export as".

My other half gave up on Adobe CS because of the cost and moved over to Affinity. She is really pleased with it. She used Photoshop, Illustrator and In Design. I assume that Affinity is doing all she needs judging be her singing the praises of it.
