The same thought had crossed my mind. Hopefully he’s fine, might see that despite the content of most of his posts, people do still think about him and care about him, and might come back with a slightly less hostile approach to our hard-to-understand nation.

He just sees us as does a fair part of the world right now, looking on aghast as we demonstrate that bluff and bluster isn’t a viable strategy for dealing with Covid-19. The truth hurts, I suppose.
I've had him on ignore for a long time, but nothing to do with any Anti-UK position.
In this respect, I think he provides an interesting insight into how a lot of the world sees Britain these days (even pre Covid) - It's not as rosy as many here would like to believe.
I can't say I'm entirely surprised he's banned (if, in fact, he is), but I'm glad he's not been affected by Covid (well any more than everyone else).

I appreciate that his observations riled several people here. At the same time I don’t think he ever resorted to uttering obscenities or making ad hominem attacks on those who challenged his opinions, despite him being subjected to a fair amount of vitriol. If it was a case of banning everyone who thinks we’re on our way to hell in a handcart, then I suppose there would have to be quite a cull of the present membership, me included.
I suspect he just got fed up with the abuse, he just riled the usual bunch of thugs who are past masters at gang hut mentality. I agree he spouted a load of rubbish but he acted more civilised than the thugs who went for his throat time after time.
I had/have no idea who Cilla was/is so as Spain was mentioned I presumed it was you Mick. Clearly not.

Just to be clear, Cilla is a full blown expatriated Spanish citizen and lives here 52 weeks a year from what I can gather. I am just a retired Brit who spends 5 months each year in Spain, I am just a tourist. I came here in March for a 6 week stint but thanks to all the airflights being cancelled, I am trapped here until normal service resumes.

Cilla does indeed live in Spain. However one thing he isn’t is a Spanish citizen. If he could he would renounce any citizenship.
