    Milgauss white or speedy panda

If you had to choose out of the two, which would it be and why?

    Rolex Milgauss white
    Speedy panda tokyo/apollo 11

I love them both as much, I've seen a Milgauss gv in the flesh and I've tried a few speedies on.

The reason the Milgauss was scrubbed off the list was because I've always said if I was to get a Milgauss it would be the gv model.

I've decided now that my PO fits the bill for a black dialed big chunk of a watch so the Milgauss white is back on the top spot.

I'm not asking people to tell me what to buy, just looking for a bit of feedback.

It's either one or the other and then I'm done with watches for a while. Thanks

Interesting choice, the Milgauss as you know is no longer in production so certainly makes a nice collectible and from what I've seen a few really nice ones do turn up and they tend to be cheaper than the GV models.

The Apollo 11 35th anniversary Speedmaster is an absolute stunner, but these days would probably be double the price of the Milgauss. Some people buy the dial and hands and convert a normal moon watch and that is of course the cheaper option for the same look.

Not convinced about the Omega Olympic releases and I don't think moving them to 2021 or whenever will make any difference to value, so personally I would discount this particular watch.

That leaves two, both no longer made and both collectible, but one is much dearer than the other. Five years ago it was the other way round. You can't really lose with either of these, just a case of how much you want to spend.

Do I have a favourite here? The Apollo 11 by a long distance.

Both nice looking watches so you can’t go wrong with either, but I prefer the Milgauss, Always had a soft spot for the white dialler version myself, very interesting looking watch with the orange markers.

When the novelty of the Milgauss's rather strident dial grows dim, you'll wish you'd rehomed a panda.

Make it a Bad Panda for me, pls.

Personal choice, but I am not a big fan of the white Milgauss. The omega Tokyo Panda is really nice. Apollo 11 is stunning, but in a whole different price category.

I’d go for the speedy, I would say it is more versatile if it is your only watch.

Both very nice but the Omega would be my choice.

    Thanks everyone.
Looks like I'm going back to my original plan then. Sell the PO, get the speedy and then save up for the Milgauss GV.

White Milgauss is one of my favourite watches, I’m on my third and hopefully won’t sell this one! I have a black GV also but prefer the white..

Good luck with whatever you may choose.

That said, the Panda is probably the nicest of the bunch.

Depends on the price for me. Milgauss should be bought at a discount if used compared to list price. Don’t the omegas command a premium ?

I would love to add a white milgaus to my modest collection. I have never felt the love for speedies, but that is very much a personal choice and taste thing.

On paper, panda plus speedmaster is a crowd pleaser but the white milgauss is just more interesting

The Speedy Panda is a great looking watch. I would love to pick one up at some point.

Milgauss all day long. They are charming, beautiful and very special I says. Next to a modern Air King and GV Rolex special.

They certainly are. I got in touch with a seller on c24 the other day for a tokyo edition and he'd already had a deposit put down within a couple of hours.

Between these two models, for me, I would look at functionality for my lifestyle:

Rolex - screw down crown and water resistance to 100m - great for family holidays and horsing around in the pool.

If you require a chronograph to time things, and are happy with a manual wind movement, then the Omega. This isn't essential for me however.

Both nice looking watches, but I would choose the Rolex (As i also prefer a central running seconds hand).

I had a milgauss, black dial and liked it a fair bit. It was quite heavy though and as it is polished it will show up all sorts of scratches.

Always been a fan of speedy especially the panda. I have owned 2 and regretted selling them both.

    For me the speedy wins.

    Milgauss white or speedy panda

For me there is only one Milguass to go for and that is the Z blue with GV sapphire IMHO.

But if you can catch a Panda Speedy then they more versatile I find. I wear mine much more than the Milgauss

My personal taste would negate the white dialed milgauss. A fine watch but it doesn't appeal to me. It's a bit mundane. However the Omega looks lovely and is much more interesting.

White Milgauss if you want to speculate that a polarizing watch today (though I like it, value-wise versus the GV) might be the collectible watch of tomorrow

What a watch, looks great. I'd take that over the Milgauss but the Milgauss is probably harder wearing if you're a pig with your watches like I am.

    Milgauss white or speedy panda

Sorry but I’m not a fan of the mismatch between the lume on the hands and hour markers with the Milgauss so 100% for the Speedmaster

    Is that a Gemini 4?

I used to have one of those - very pretty watch.

Good that we are all different. I love the White Milgauss, now on my third which will hopefully stay, I’ve owned the non GV & GV but I’m afraid the blue does nothing for me!

Speedys are nice in vintage guise IMO..

Aah right. The Gemini 4 dated back to 2005, if I remember correctly...

C24 from a dealer in Japan. I haven't had my customs bill come through yet but even with the 20% vat added it was a very good price (well, a price I was happy with).
