Daily social distancing queues at Heathrow

    Interesting quick statistics:

    Daily passenger average of 219,458.
If everyone were to stand the required 2m apart, total length of queues per day at LHR would be 274km long.
    Queue to board a A380: 1.7km.

Queues would obviously be shorter when people travelling together, but by Christ it doesn't look inviting!
Imagine trying to get into the Terminal!

Social distanced security checks...sounds a challenge too

Why would you need social distance queues at the airport only to then get crammed into a sardine tin together

Heard that a queue for one 747 alone would be 1km long if social distancing is observed.

At the moment I imagine that there are a lot less flights and travelers going through Heathrow. The number of passengers would probably go up as the extent of social distancing measures go down.

Saw on the news recently that some UK airports have been offering "passenger PPE" in the form of masks and gloves. This will probably help when combined with having some space between seats in already relatively empty planes.

Had enough of the uncertainty, and really don’t fancy going to an airport never mind getting on a plane any time soon. Discussed with my daughter regards her upcoming Wedding late October in Mexico, and we have decided to rebook for October 2021 which we have now done.

Should have been flying today but cancelled back in March before the madness and quite frankly have no intention of flying again in the near future. Never liked it even turning left on the plane and just wish you guys that have to endure this torture well.

All my work is overseas, and consequently I won't earn a penny until I'm able to fly again.
When I have the opportunity I'll have to take my chances.

N95 Mask, gloves, Glasses, avoid drink and avoid picking your nose.

    Sorted
