Hi all,
Creating this thread to talk about all things related to the Rolex Submariner
To kick off the conversation - can we find a Sub from every year?
I’ll kick off with mine: 2006
Thanks
S

Here's mine, a 2007 model 16610.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

Don't be silly Ian, it has nothing to do with make of watch, it's to do with another newb wanting to change eddies forum.
1987 Datejust.
This was my daily for 10 years.
Not a sub but the threads getting ruined anyway

Great thread this , all the photos are Submariner “Dates” not a 5512/3/ 14060/ 114060 amongst them.
I’ve had a few Subs in my time.

Surely there’s hundreds of threads on here about Subs covering every subject possible. Unless it’s tagged at the top it’ll fall off and just become another thread lost forever.

It's not just about Subs, the original intent was to have a thread per watch and why not, sounds like a damn fine idea to me. If those threads all had their own section then anyone wanting to simply browse info on a particular watch could do just that. Nothing wrong with having a G-Shock thread, a UN Freak thread etc. etc. I'm not a fan of Rolex but it just so happens that the first person to start a thread on a particular watch did so for a Sub. I've actually quite liked the pictures so far.
n.b. if it has to stay in the main forum then it should be tagged but there would end up being too many tagged threads.
I think you’ll find there are plenty of informal threads by watch type, typically starting with “show us your. . . “ as in “show us your G-shock” etc.
or
the “TZ UK Speedmaster Thread” etc
https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...highlight=Show
“nothing new under the sun”
there are no sub-forums by watch type.
Done to death hundreds of times before- every conceivable picture, option, age, model, non date, date, 5513, ceramic, etc.
It’ll get some air time for a while then drop off like any other watch thread.

I have a platinum dial Yacht-Master, the rich mans Submariner. I'm too posh for this thread.
Here's a shot of part of the sub U534 showing the depth charge damage that forced it to surface right at the end of WW2. I guess you'd call that a fair amount of WABI
I was very fortunate to be able to walk right through it before it was sealed off, cut into sections and preserved for public display. There is a lot of history and mystery behind this particular sub.
It dates from 1942.
I have more pictures if anyone would like to see them.

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
My 2001 K-serial with lugholes and SELs.
After owning 14 Rolex watches I'm absolutely certain that 16610 is the best Rolex ever. Blog of my watch

I can imagine a Submariner getting very excited about one of these:
In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
My favourite sub seen better days but its mine. (someone has offered me a fortune for the flat 4 bezel)...

Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
The conning tower is in rather good condition, though it's obviously been repainted at some point. The restoration work has been well done though, but it can no longer be classed as all original as the gold torpedo tubes have been removed by whoever undertook the work! It does come with it's original sticker though, as can be seen on the front of the conning tower.
I fear sending it back to Kiel would lead to them fitting many replacement parts, (and I believe their policy is to retain whatever they remove), thus reducing its value on the used marketplace quite considerably. I think the current amount of WABI adds to its attraction and value though.

No mention of Grand Seiko yet...
