If I buy something (Tv) on a credit card then do a balance transfer onto another card (interest free period) if something had to happen do I still have the above cover ?

Just keep a fiver on the existing card if it gives you peace of mind.
Yes you have cover with the original card/card issuer. As far as they are concerned you have just paid your bill in full.
It is irrelevant if it is a transfer town interested free card .
