I lust after many but I really like the aqua terra, peacock and of course the AP.
Enjoy them

I last did a SOTC 9 months ago, when I had added a few and started to shape a collection of watches that ticked all of the boxes. Since then, it’s got a wee bit out of hand, but I must say I’m pretty much happy with where it’s at.
In terms of future desires, I’m 40 next year so there’s planning towards a signature piece to remember that landmark, possibly a VC Patrimony or a AP 11.59. Before then, the new release from JLC Master Control Chronograph Calendar in steel is going to get a closer look.
In terms of ins / outs it’s been busy, out have gone the Bremont MBII and Tudor BB58 and the incomings, in order below, newest first:
Breitling Avenger Hurricane 45mm 12H
Picked up from Burrells after a bit of stress trying to buy an Exospace, but everything good in the end. First impressions, fantastic watch, different to anything else I’ve got and the Breitlight material is incredible, doesn’t wear like a 45mm watch as it weighs hardly anything.
Grand Seiko SBGA407 ‘Skyflake’
My every day watch for the office for 2 years was my GS ‘Peacock’, probably my favourite watch in the collection, so already had the GS bug, this popped up on SC at a great price and is stunning. Finishing is superb and the texture on the dial is incredible, very light on the wrist and complements the Peacock perfectly.
Tudor Black Bay Bronze
Took this in trade against the MBII as I didn’t have a bronze watch and liked this edition from the 2019 Basel release, mainly for the slate dial which I think looks phenomenal. Like the dimensions, you know you’re wearing it!
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial
Was on holiday in Dubai, having a look through the forum and SC and this was up for sale...I’d already bought a number of watches over Christmas and told the missus that was me done. Kash had got a ridiculous deal on it and it was too good to turn down. Genuinely stunning watch, the Sedna Gold with the blue dial, best pound for pound watch I own, also the wife’s favourite so avoided the dog house as well! The rotor and clasp complete the watch, just magnificent.
Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch
I’m a sucker for a deal, also dangerous during time spent at home, where I bought this at Christmas from the Watts sale, hesalite version, classic watch...slightly tight on the bracelet so doesn’t get worn as much as it should but fair to say I now ‘get it’ as to why it has such a following!
Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V
My big purchases are usually to recognise a lifetime event, this one was a new job and was a fortunate circumstance that led to me picking it up. Chisholm Hunter had taken over the Omega boutique in the Argyll Arcade and opened a VC offering, I wanted the Brown Dial version of this watch but it was discontinued. Was encouraged to have a look at the Blue dial they had in the window, bought it there and then, ridiculous dial, colours bursting everywhere, 3 strap options with quick change system, Geneva Seal movement, what else can you ask for!
Rolex 116400GV Milgauss
Walking through the Argyll Arcade past Laings on my way to pick up the VC, there’s a Rolex Milgauss sitting in the window. My other half sees me staring at it, knows what it is and tells me to buy it, so off we go in, must’ve been 30 secs ahead of another guy asking to see it. My first Rolex, love the z-blue dial and glass, loads of character topped off with the lightning bolt seconds hand. Feels absolutely solid and that bracelet is magnificent.
Bremont MBIII 10th Anniversary
The MB range is Bremont’s signature collection and I love this LE, white dial is super-crisp, red triangle and the MB pull cord on the seconds hand brings a smile to the face, this version also has the engraved case back, another nice touch.
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chrono ST26331
Bought to remember a promotion, has to wait 4 months to be allocated to the AD but when I got it, realised it was worth waiting for. The finishing on the watch and bracelet with the differences between polishing is incredible, the blue tapisserie dial is iconic. Just a magnificent piece of engineering, that’s stood the test of time.
Bremont S300
Love this watch, preferred it to my Tudor BB58, the 40mm case makes this very wearable relative to the MBIII or Alt1-c.
Grand Seiko SBGJ227 ‘Peacock’
Saw this in the window of James Porter & Sons in the Argyll Arcade and was smitten, had been considering the GS for a while as it has quite a following on here. Wore it for a solid 2 years every day to work, needs a polish now! Can’t see me ever flipping this. Limited edition of 700 pieces, hardly see any up for sale these days the odd one in C24.
Bremont Alt1-c
My first Bremont, still wear this frequently, the anthracite dial combined with the trip-tick case just looks great, another watch I would be unlikely to move on, classic Bremont design.
Montblanc 4810 Star Chronograph
Wore this for a while to work as well, the dial is special, with various waves and textures that bounce off the light...a big unit, but sits nice on the wrist and still get an outing!
Ianos Avyssos
Bought these off Kickstarter as loved the design and idea, got them through and pleasantly surprised, good value for money and enjoy putting them on when they get a chance.
That’s all folks, thanks for reading and helping indirectly shape my watch collecting hobby, once you get the bug it can get out of control!!

Very nice collection.
Whoever does not know how to hit the nail on the head should be asked not to hit it at all.
Friedrich Nietzsche
Very nice. Lots to like there.

Wanted - Damasko DC57
Wow great collection indeed!
The skyflake and Aqua Terra are two watches I seriously considered when I saw them on here. Snooze you lose!
The VC I picked up a week ago and it’s an incredible all round watch with the 3 straps options.
The AP chrono is one I’ve contemplated for a long time!
That is a great collection.
Are you still enjoying the Tudor Bronze? that is something that I may look for at some point.
The gold Omega is amazing.
That’ll do! Hell of a collection - quality from start to finish.
Thanks for posting, you have made me feel better about my "spend" on this hobby.
The VC and AP are obvious stand out pieces but the Skyflake is superb in it's own right.
Great collection, for me the star is the AP chrono
There’s some great pieces in there ,well all of them really, sounds like you’ve a cracking missus as well .

Outstanding collection, very much up my street.
If you ever lose your mind and sell the skyflake please get in touch
It’s probably the one that feels most special to wear, as you know it’s pretty much as it was designed 30+ years ago. Got really lucky with the AD, as they made the blue dial boutique only straight after, then hiked the price twice!
I absolutely love it, but not sure I could’ve gone to the current RRP, narrows the gap to the gold versions and they are truly special

Ha ha, she tends to push me over the line when I’m fretting on spending more money in another watch!
By the same token, she has done very well on jewellery, when I bought the AP, she got a diamond trilogy ring, wasn’t far off the price of a 15450 at the time...thems the breaks I suppose...!

Well that's some SOTC. Lovely watches. You might want to look into putting s Seamaster clasp on the Speedy, it's a game changer.
What a nice and varied collection. You have me doing man maths on an AP now...!
Nice collection Mr doc. Glad you are still enjoying the BB Bronze, your old MB2 has since moved on to pastures new

Superb collection. Several of those could he a one and done exit watch for me. Particularly the VC Overseas, beautiful.
Cheers Rob! The Tudor is just totally different to anything else, but I’m probably 3 over what I need to get decent wear in the collection.
Love the MB range, they are now doing build your own, can select finish, barrel colour, strap, case back etc, great concept. Hopefully it found a happy home!

Great collection!
The Overseas is the star, for me. I'd love one but I have skinny wrists and, even if it would just about fit, it's too expensive to make do. Good to see it on the rubber strap!
Very nice collection.
I don't normally like gold watches, but that aqua terra is probably my favorite of your watches, very nice peice.
What a great collection and thanks for sharing. I enjoyed hearing how you had marked life's events with a watch. It's a nice way to celebrate isn't it? I think my favorite is that sedna gold Omega. I was seriously tempted by Kash's sale too but other stuff got in the way at that moment. Glad you picked it up.
