Rubber on a dive style watch works well IMHO. For a Rolex i prefer rubber b or similar with curved ends. I recently put my EXP2 onto a rubber strap with straight ends and it is ok but not to rubber b standard. Otherwise a nato can also look good, some great examples earlier on this thread.

It always amused me as they were known in French as Ďcapotes anglaisesí (English hoods).
Reassuringly we have a fairly small town in the Gers (SW France) called Condom.

Hence forth I'll refer to them as 'capotes anglaises'

Personally I think it goes well.

I like mine on a geckota tropical strap sometimes, but the bracelet always inevitably goes back on

You donít need to cut a nato strap, I find this the best way to wear mine.

I never keep any watch on one thing for long so as soon as I got my sub I started looking into other options. I bought a cheap rubber equivalent of the Everest/Rubber B from Cousins (for about £20 if memory serves) and a NATO FROM Eddie. My intention was to see which I liked and trade up.
I wonít be bothering though, both are excellent and get far more wear than the bracelet. I am thinking of an Erikaís but canít decide on the colour.
ĎDive iní and give some a try !

    Used car dealer

I love submariners, I think they look good on the metal strap but equally look amazing on Rubber B, or my preference Everest. Nato straps and subs also look good I think but generally on other people. On me I dont really like them. Subs on metal straps remind me of a shady used car salesman, Mark.

This thread has seriously made me want a black rubber strap for my sub. What gives Everest the edge over rubber b? Cheers

From memory, the number of holes and their spacing gave me a better fit. More comfortable to wear.

I rarely wear my Sub on its bracelet, preferring nato, rubber, leather, MN style straps. Currently sits on rubber!

Thoughts and links to what works well on your sub are most welcome - as are pics!
Personally, I think a Sub looks great on rubber or sailcloth/cordura, both of which are water resistant and suit it's practical diving function. Also looks great on casual distressed leather or a nato for that Bond look if that's your thing. Especially your no date version which I think is much cooler than the date version. The date function always looks a bit out of place on a Sub to me, especially with that cyclops. Always thought a cyclops looks great on a DJ or DD but out of place on steel sports Rolex's. A Sub looks great on most straps because it's a Sub! Plain and simple. One day I too will own one!

There is a way around the cyclops, if you donít like the look.

I think you probably influenced me. It was only after joining this forum that I developed cyclopsphobia.

I ended up asking Pavel on the forum to make me this leather strap. Quite like the look of this! I also have a rubber strap on the way.
