Oh! I did not realise. Thanks for pointing this out. This does make the watch release more significant and for the brand.

Tempted by the 27.01... the only thing is that I assume we now have to add 20% VAT + handing etc on the price now? (unless Ming offers a tax exempted price when shipping to non-EU countries... which I doubt?)

    Argh

The watches ship from Malaysia so UK buyers paid duties anyway

Also worth noting that if it had involved importing from Switzerland, VAT would also apply (as it did before our departure from the EU).

Any existing buyers went for either the 27.01 or 27.02?

Looks like a beauty, I thought about what could possibly justify extra 1k on top of the price of the 27.01 but it looks really good. Congratulations!

Wow, the 27.02 looks pretty special. Look forward to seeing some better images.

I’d missed this thread but just popped up on my Instagram. To me the best release from Ming so far.

As a “younger” watch collector I’ll give my perspective-

There’s a lot of value with companies being open/transparent about a process. If they decided to prevent someone from buying a watch, there’s a chance there could be backlash and outrage over perceived favoritism or “discrimination”. If they announce they won’t sell to abusive people then it is publicly clear why person XYZ cannot buy any more from them.

Also it’s sad that telling people not to be jerks has to be done but there is always a level of entitlement the more expensive a product is. Ming are too pricey for me right now (missed out on the 17 series) but if I had the funds I would buy it in a heartbeat.

I had one in my basket too, but it’s difficult to commit to such a large purchase without taking the time to look at the photos properly first, by which time my basket was empty

For what it’s worth, I think the 27.02 is the nicer variation, including the piece unique.

I’m assuming the answer is no, but are the indices lumed on the new dial?

I read the description and it doesn’t

‘Like its sibling, the 27.02 is one of our most formal pieces and does not carry any luminous material’

Nice release, too close to my 1901 and I also have a 2701. One reason i got the 2701 was it's so different from the other releases - no fancy gradients or patterning, very stripped back. The 2702 is certainly fancier in style and will most certainy appeal.

Very attracted to the .02 but too dressy perhaps for me.

Just managed to get a 27.01 - very very excited

This batch of 27.02 sold out in about 2 minutes, and 27.01 in less than 3...

Very lucky. Sadly Santander took two minutes to pop up a "verify payment" notification on my phone, by which time I had missed out :(

Sorry to hear that...:( I used my laptop and my browser automatically filled in the payment details for me (I used a Monzo card). Over and done in about 20 seconds.

Hopefully you'll manage one during the next batch! (a bit painful that it's at 3AM GMT...)

Santander user here as well and it all went flawlessly for once. They’re releasing another batch on 22nd Jan at 3am GMT (not ideal time!)

27.1 and 2 are really lovely, only downside that stopped me was the massive lead time, i just can't wait that long LOL

BUT, it will be worth it

  26. #76
Ming issued a statement yesterday saying that as some people bought multiple (with the same name or to the same address), they canceled all but one for each, as part of the flipper prevention scheme. So hopefully that means there'll be a few more during the last batch for whoever's still after one from TZ:)

Got one!! Thanks goodness for that. What a gorgeous watch.

Even better, it won't be shipped till I've relocated to a country with much lower import taxes :)

Now off to bed, thank goodness.

I'd have ordered one but my impatience is acute and the chances of me waiting 6 months or so for delivery is zero

Buyers remorse makes me think I should have gone for .02 instead of .01 !

Haha, I got an email that my 27.01 is being delivered in May, so not too horrible I guess. Just have to resist thinking about it, and hopefully forget about this briefly - and have myself a nice surprise some time in April etc.

That's surely not right morally or legally???

Strikes me as very opposite of what Luxury Provider should be doing.

I have the 2701 and you'll very much enjoy it. The gradient dials are nice, but i find the 01 dial more coherent to the case design of the 27 series. If you were to only have one Ming, the 2701 is the one. (it also helps I have the 1901 so my own gradient dial craving is very much satisfied....)
