Ugg slippers are great with the warm furry lining. Lasted me years now
I constantly walk around bare foot. Have done so for years, but this last year I'd planned to buy a decent pair as I'd been WFH.
However, I read an article last week that explained that bare foot helps maintain foot strength and flexibility, Vs flat footbed sliders or slippers. Shoes are apparently best as they support your arch.
Left me somewhat confused as to what slippers would be best, with a decent foot bed. Apparently Berkinstock are good for this

Ordered Giesswein Veitsch on 9th, delivered just now, just in time for me to go to bed (working nights this week).
First impressions are good. The footbed has a large support for the arch. I suspect this molds to you foot over time. Initially it feels large. They feel very comfortable in bare feet.
FedEx have lost mine after sending them to the wrong depot but are going to try and find them. The old ones will have to do a little while longer.
Mmmhhh…. Have some furry Ugg slippers
Maybe I need something for the cooler months?
Are these ok in terms of not making your feet too sweaty?
Can be sweaty if worn barefoot. With socks all ok.
FedEx have found my slippers and they should be here on Monday. Happy days.
These are the most comfortable slippers I have ever owned

When winter comes simply change the liner

It’s difficult to imagine more spazzy looking feet than this but my, they are comfy.
I sent the low back ones back, couldn’t deal with them flapping about.
We'll they're here but somehow smaller than the pair they're replacing. Double checked the size on both which is the same so not sure why they're different. I've ordered the next size up so hopefully I'll have a fitting pair in a few days if FedEx don't lose these too.
Boring old Vs new size pic.
So those that bought Geisswein, which model did you go for?
Dannheim last time. Woolpos this time. Woolpops I had to size up in.
all mules -
the ones on me plates are sheepskin a pressie from the wife, from either latvia or estonia (the baffies not the ball and chain) - warm
the teal ones were pressie from brother, from one of the ###stan countries (as above) felted , also warm
the grass cover ones are sam windsors outdoor mules - good for pottering around in (including strimming apparently) - cheap but durable (much like the ball and chain) ...

Just to update this (after a couple of years):
I well & truly withdraw my recommendation for Mahabis. They might be comfortable but they are essentially expensive rubbish.
The first pair only lasted just over a year before the neoprene back ripped on one of the slippers. To give them their dues, mahabi were happy to replace the pair (although they were technically out of warranty). However, unfortunately, since buying the original pair, the company had been taken over by VCs and production had been moved to a new factory in Portugal. Although visually similar, the new pair felt quite different on my feet. So much so that I had to transfer the inner soles from the old pair into the new ones to improve them.
However, this second ‘new’ pair have barely lasted. They are falling apart in several places, heels and toes.
As soon as my new pair of Giesswein Woolpops arrive, these Mahabis will be going straight into the landfill. I don’t even think there is any part worth recycling.
So, in short: avoid Mahabis.
Agreed, the most I have got out of a pair is a year and that was the sleep skin ones with the rubber over the toes (neoprene ripped on the back). The other pair I had without that rubber on the toes only lasted a few months. The prices have also gone up a lot too, they used to be around the £80 mark but now they’re £120 or so.

Anyone else pairing the slippers with a nice PJ set?
I have given up on slippers and now use Crocs. Much more practical.
I looked for quite a while for what I considered acceptable slippers. I turned 50 last year, so figured I was allowed to own a pair now.
I settled on these https://www.outdoorandcountry.co.uk/...7.html?c=Brown
They didn't feel like old man slippers :)
Fresh pair today as a present from my wife. There is also a navy pair at the in-laws so one of these will go to my mums - never without a pair.
Never without the TZ slipper.
Toying with a pair of the Veitsch next as like the idea of a firmer sole.
I still find I trip with the woolpops on stairs. Very confusing and annoying.

Anyone prefer slippers without a hard sole?
Picked up a pair of handmade, hand-stitched sheepskin slippers with leather (or is it felt) soles in France about 10 years ago, i.e. fully flexible/bendable/foldable bottoms.
Of course this soft sole type means you don't wear them outdoors (seems many wear slippers out 'to put the bins out',etc). But then that's what shoes are for...
EDIT: to add, something like this:

New pair of Giesswein Veitsch arrived.
Much prefer the thicker sole
I guess I have to post an update too, as I started the thread
It was recently 'that time of year again' when I needed some new slippers. So back this thread I came and guess what the 3 year old discount code for Giesswein still works! BUT....there's always a but, the version I bought last year is no longer available.
Following the first (launch?) year of this thread I bought the Giesswein Dannhiem......very impressed, but sole a bit thin. Last year another version very similar but with a thicker sole.....perfect! Now this year, I don't want to go back to the Dannhiem, the Woolpops seem to be just colourful versions of the Dannheims, then there's the Veitsch and similar......is it just me or are those ones with the beige soles all just a bit too clog like? Seem popular on here but not for me.
Anyway I've jumped ship and gone for the Birkenstock Zermatt
2 weeks in, very pleased so far.
Seasonal bump!
Came across this company located in Devon, which has some nice offerings:
