    Sinn U1 photo thread

Such an amazing watch - one of my favourite ever, and the release of the U50 couldn't please me more as the original was always a bit large for me.

Given its unique design and the many ways it can be worn, i thought a photo thread would provide some pleasure. Let's see yours.

I bought a lovely example off SC a couple of years ago. The usual story of loving it and moving it on after a while. I regret not making a move for the one Papa Hotel listed yesterday. The mini version definitely appeals to me.

This thread was the last thing I needed... I totally regret selling it.

Yesterday was payday as well. Took the dog for a walk and by the time I got home someone else had got in there. Your Longines LD is another great watch for a relatively small amount of money. Some great watches listed on SC in recent weeks, your two included.

The worst bit about it... I've sold them to make way for a Breitling. At RRP. I know.

Ach, I don't think the pain will last long, both were lovely but I just wasn't wearing them.

    Farewell U1!

Bugger! Should have bought that one and then walked the dog. Enjoy your new Speedbird and Breitling.

Wonderful pictures Tony and a bona fide classic. They’ve always been too big for me too (which still didn’t stop me buying three over the years) so I’m excited about the U50.

The U1 is one I keep going back to. If they did one with a white dial I'd be straight in there.

I've been eyeing this up on Jura for the last few weeks Andy, would like to see it in the flesh when all this blows over.

It should have been drowned at birth. Like the camouflage one.

Agreed, but with that depth rating maybe think of another way of killing it?

    lovely images

another watch I need to experience

£1,400 to £2,000 depending on strap? - seem to be a bargain new if your wrists support the size of the watch, it is 44mm?

Papa's loss has been my gain:

Just what I was looking for - just when I least expected it!

Hope the Breitling is worth it

I've worried that the U series watches would drown me but the U50 is spot on. Now if Sinn could do the same to the U2 and UX...

Thanks chaps, but you're meant to be making the decision making process easier by telling me one is clearly better than the other! I'll try them on in person once the world is back to normal alongside the U50 models.

The U1 Professional was an LE of 100 for the NA market a few years back. Was actually designed with input from a friend of mine. This is hands down my favorite iteration of the U1, bar none. No Date, EZM1-inspired dial and destro setup, improved lume, domed crystal, and more subdued color scheme. They rarely come up for sale. There is Sinn facebook group and there was one up for sale there a couple of weeks ago I believe.

Seems to be (and I don't mean this at-all dissmissively) a grab bag of UX case, U1 dial and hands, and bezel from the U1W - apart from the "professional" printing, it *should* be something Sinn could make as a bespoke order if people struggle to find them.

Trying the U1 on a NATO today - bought the strap from ebay for another watch entirely (which it didn't suit), but loving it on the Sinn

That looks great. I've always liked the U1 on nylon... probably my favourite look for it, actually.

Thanks - do you recall where you got the one in you picture from? I like the look, and prefer a single-layer pull-thru type where possible.
