Plastic base, metal top plate, 2 jewels, serviceable. Rechargeable battery is the usual Panasonic-based MT920 unit, easy to replace if it ever ages.
I recently picked up a Seiko solar quartz and I'm loving it. I've been waiting for a smaller Seiko quartz diver for many years and it's the prefect grab and go.

I know nothing about the Calibre V147 quartz solar movement and I'm wondering if some of the WIS on here might have some insights. Is it made up of cheap plastic parts? What's the expected lifetime of the solar battery? Is it serviceable?
Thanks in advance.

I have two solar Seiko divers, only had them three years, no reliability issues but neither is particularly accurate compared to other quartz watches I own. That's my only minor gripe.
I think the bezel must be aluminium.
One thing I like about it is the radial brushing. Looks good and avoids finger smudges!
