Five Things You're Going to Do When The Madness Ends

    Ladies and Gentlemen of TZUK,

With an eye to the future, with a willing and hopeful heart, let's list the five things you'll do when all of this CV-19 madness is over. Think about them and make them count:

    1. Go round my mum's with my brother and have a Sunday roast chicken!
    2. Take a trip down to Leeds to see my best friend and have a damn fine curry!
    3. Book a flight to my beloved Netherlands and drink some Amstel beer bij de Amstel!
    4. Go to the pub!
    5. Go to the chippy and have a massive fish supper!

    Bring it on!

Well, one of the first things will be to delete Zoom from my laptop but that’s not worthy of the list.

    1. Take the wonderful Mrs C jewellery shopping
    2. Get on a flight to Nepal to see my mate
    3. Head for a random music festival with family and friends
    4. Pub lunch with extended family at our favourite country pub
    5. TZ-UK goes to, the sequel

So it would seem that the hospitality trade, including bars and fish n chippies are going to do very well on the bounceback!

    2) Take the wife out for a 'Date night'
    3) 3 musketeers (me and my 2 best friends) night out.
    4) Retail therapy
    5) Go to the seaside.

I'm not much of one for pubs and drinking so not high on my agenda anyway.

    1. Go over to Manchester & give my 15 old lummox of a son a big hug, and tell him I missed him. He'll just say get off!
    2. Haircut. The missus thinks I'm morphing into Johnny Mathis, or the fella from Boney M.
    3. A mahoosive curry.
    3. Drink uncopious amounts of cider in a beer garden.
    4. Attend as many gigs/festivals as humanely possible. My camera & I are getting restless.
    5. Find a job.

    1. Spend less time sitting near a PC like a saddo.

    2. Get out and socialise and meet up again with family and friends. I have to say, however, thank goodness for FaceTime and the like, being abroad today is no different than being in the UK.

    3. Recommence more international travel once it is safe to do so, i.e after we have been vaccinated and not before.

    4. Also Buy some decent booze, not the cheap plonk sold in Spanish supermarkets. All the Bodegas, who sell the good stuff, are currently closed down.

    5. Get out, walk and lose the half a stone I have gained through lack of exercise. Walking up and down a garden path in a locked garden is akin to a convict walking in a circle in the prison yard.

Both our local Fish & Chip shops are open as usual.

Had two large Cod & Chips at the weekend.

Looking forward to opening up the Soho club i help run on a Friday and Saturday nights, live music, dancing, laughing and drinking with 60+ people.

    That's just cruel!!!!!

Our local Fish & Chip shops all seem to be shut, along with most restaurants.

Our neighbours run the local Chinese takeaway, so we're having something from them now and then, along with our favourite local Indian restaurant - We'd hate for either to go out of business due to this lockdown.

Oddly, while I'm not a huge fan of Fish & Chips, I really crave it at the moment!

Five things I'm going to do:

    1) Go and see my Mum for a few days.
    2) Go scuba diving - Anywhere! Might see you in Swanage ,Catch21!
    3) Get my hair cut.
    4) Take the family out for dinner (Or maybe they'll take me for my birthday!)
    5) Go to my daughter's wedding - Wherever and whenever it happens to be!

See and hug my 10 year old daughter- I work for the NHS 120 miles from home and have not seen her for 5 weeks which is tearing m apart if I’m honest.

See my best friends and have a huge garden party with copious amounts of food and Jack Daniels.

See my brother and his family- I’m missing them all.

Get my hair cut- it’s totally out of control now!

Try and sell my house ( as part of my divorce) and buy another one to start my life over.

I know that’s 5 already but once things are sorted I will then be back and forth to Belgium to see my daughter and will get some decent 1:1 time with her for the first time in 10 years rather than have her mother control when I can and can’t spend time with her- the child arrangement order has taken me 4 months and almost 10k but it will al be worth it if I can finally be a proper dad rather than allowing her to be alienated and turned against me.

    1. See my mum and dad again and give them a huge hug. My dad turns 80 in a couple of weeks, all festivities cancelled.

    2. Blast the car the 60 miles to the North Antrim coast (within the speed limits of course), dinner in Ramore wine bar, cruise home via the coastal scenic route.

    3. Organise a big collective birthday party for my 2 kids who will have missed theirs (7 And 5 yo) along with all their classmates who have also missed theirs.

    4. Hopefully get my FHL project up and running. That has kinda died in the water with covid 19.

    5. Have some time at home alone, no kids, no nag, no work that night, just sunshine in the hammock and cold Peroni.

For those of you desperate to go to the pub:

Reportedly, there are 50m pints of draught beer currently trapped in kegs, barrels & beer-lines in closed pubs. That's going to be some clean-out job before re-opening...

The best one near me is shut sadly, so while I could avail myself of one from the local kebab shop, I'm not quite that desperate yet. That may well change :)

Not sure what I'll do on the 2nd day pubs are open again.
Do it all again, in a different order

Aside from helping the local pubs to recover, I would love a haircut and to see our two daughters again who live at opposite ends of the country to us.

    In no particular order:

    1) have dinner out with Mrs Cain.
    2) go to as much live music and theatre as I can book.
    3) pop to my local on a sunny Friday afternoon and sit in the beer garden for four hours, drinking decent bitter and reading a good book.
    4) spark up the 928 and go for a good long drive, for no reason whatsoever.
    5) go on the trip to NYC that I should’ve left for on Friday.

    Thanks for the comments guys.
I am very much a newbie here and don't know many people but this pandemic is a great leveller, I think we will all be affected in one way or another before we reach the other side.
What I will say is that I have been astonished at how helpful the hospital teams, the registrars, the banks and utility companies have been.
They have all changed the rules and are accepting scanned/photographed and emailed documents, even the death was registered over the phone.

Now back to the fantasy answers please

Sorry to hear about your Father Kevin, my condolences.

    1) Go and see family

    2) Takeaway!

    3) Go to the coast

    4) Night away with the wife

    5) Family holiday
